I've started printing and assembling the bren carrier

Print quality isn't great but I'm using up old filament and printing quickly as a prototype but at least it gets the prototyping done quickly.

I'm really battling to load pictures on Imgur, I've had this problem quite a while ago but it appears to have returned which is a dratted nuisance.

Chassis with suspension but so far no gearboxes, I do hope my shipment wasn't coming from China via Felixstowe......

I need a small adjustment to the chassis because the front idler wheel is sitting too high and interfering with the front wings.

Great progress mate, looking like a real BGC now .
I once worked in a place that had an oxy-acetylene set on a trolley that had BGC lead roadwheels on it !

Thanks for the appreciation guys. Well after a 3mm downwards movement to the front idler wheel the lower chassis is looking a lot better.

It just goes to show that for all the clever cad design there are things you can't plan for in the design, you just have to prototype and test (at the cost of a 8 hour reprint  8O :{ )

Incidentally the 3d printed spanners are in the pic as well, they work a treat.

At the moment the upper hull is removable although it doesn't have to be, it will just make it more convenient when fitting out the gearboxes and electronics. The engine cover will be removable for access.

More work to do on the engine cover and vent

Wouldn't be much of a Bren carrier without a Bren, would it! :haha:

Masterful design work as always, Alwyn. Really terrific to see it come together.
