Mr Ecam, one thing I will mention about you showing the collection, we have another member on here that shared pictures of his WWII memorabilia collection, medals etc, he was contacted by traders who joined the forum to harass him via private message. If such a thing should happen to you, please let one of us in the forum team know, and we'll happily delete the offending member.

In the second post in this thread I reintroduced the M10A1 that I started back in 2015 as my first scratch build. I mentioned there were some should have done things....

Well I put it on the bench for a minor rework. The barrel was made on a drill press with a file and sand paper. Getting the perfect taper from the rotor shield to the muzzle was near impossible. The first mod was putting it on the lathe to clean that up. The armor mounting bosses didn't come out spaced the way they should be on the sides of the hull and were inaccurate on how they were made. After the other TDs were built I liked the last one's best. The original template was too short and was remade for the M36 (Picture 3 shows where I added material to fix the first hull and the pencil marks where I drilled for the mounting bosses). I also changed the way the hulls connect at the transmission casting. I originally used the HL method and later changed to gluing the bolt strip to the trans casting. The first picture show the nose and bolt strip that came off this tank. I try and have one of these assemblies ready for the next tank (this one is starting its transformation).

On the M36 (3rd tank, 2nd scratch build), I used a leather punch to create the base for the bosses and "welded" them on with milliput. Turned out great but loads of work and the leather punch is with my daughter.



There are 40 armor bosses on these TDs. I was able to reuse all the lag screws and used 2 2.0mm and 2 2.5mm washers for each boss.



This is how they turned out on the M10 (the most recent TD). Much less work and I feel the result is pretty good.

I've never showed the gun mounts and assemblies before, the duck bill's was made slightly different than the first M10. I'm pondering to see it I can make the barrel and breach slide as a unit for some recoil. Thinking I could use the unused airsoft port for the job. Both assemblies mount to the turret with two screws. Both guns have always seemed a bit too large to my eye, but they were scaled up from a 35th reference kit. If they get rebuilt for recoil, I will try and find better pictures and measurements to get them closer to scale.

That light green transparent film is a bearing that greatly reduces friction for the turret. From a folder protector - one of Mike's (Sassgrunt) ideas.
