No it ain't! I'm looking! ;D
1:16 was my scale. Until 'Konan' came into my life... an Armortek 1:6 Tiger 1!
... Now followed by a Panther G, 'Gunther'!

I'm a happy man. 8)

Thanks! Bit of a lull as I figure out final drive, and waiting for the motor coupler and other bits to come from China...

Chipping away in-between a major rebuild of my race car for a race in November, and restoring a 1985 Sinclair C5. I designed the majority of the superstructure which highlighted a whole host of small errors in the chassis. Did a bunch of iterations and component placement changes and got that all sorted out. Got my new differential in which is exactly what I needed, but necessitated major changes to the hull mount, motor mount, Diff brake actuator and changes to the chassis stiffeners. Now that that stuff is all sorted, I still have some exhaust plumbing, hatch hinges and handles and lots of other little things before I go onto the gun emplacement (tracks are done, just not worth "building" in CAD)

Do post more of the recent development shots. There are lots of observers here, who don't necessarily post on threads; but do follow them.
I guessing you have, and have had, a lot of immersive distractions over the last ten years. :)... given your own post total. Pity.
I have to smile though, at the notion of restoring a Sinclair C5... :D Why? I'm genuinely intrigued. :)

Thanks :)
This is just the first German AFV I'll do over the next who knows how many years in 1/12th scale. Stug, Jagdpanther and more obscure stuff (I don't like doing common ones). As I finish this one, future ones will go faster as I get more experienced it designing and making them.

My bigger hobby (besides building and racing sports cars) is almost 100% scale (and scale function) 1/6th scale complex landing gear for WWII Luftwaffe aircraft. Have done a fair bit of that, and also at smaller scales since my actual RC planes are more like 1/12 scale so I can fly in the backyard.

So, long story on the C5. I had zero money as a young adult. My first computer was a TS1000 (2k ZX81) which was the only thing I could afford (my next one was a TS2068 which was an incompatible version of the Spectrum) That piece of junk computer started me on the career I still have more than 40 years later, so I owe Clive something (even though everything he did was really garbage from an engineering standpoint). In 1983 or so me and a buddy started learning assembly language to write games as the computer was so slow nothing else worked. We did a few bits, then finally wrote our version of Donkey Kong - we just fully finished it this year, winning the record of longest development time in the world (most likely). There's a ZX81 emulator for the iphone which has our game, and its here too that you can play by emulator or using the real thing. https://www.sinclairzxworld.com/viewtop ... f=4&t=4179 Anway, high on nostalgia, we went back and bought all the original Sinclair and Timex derivatives and restored those, even though almost zero people in the US have heard of any of these. In the process, I connected with "8-bit guy" youtube channel at a retro computer event and he tells me he has one imported from the UK, but its all busted up. Given all my Sinclair stuff and Clive recently kicking off, I figure why not? I offered to restore it for him. Shortly later, turns out there's 3 in Texas, and one other near me was for sale (who would have thought!) so I bought that one, and its in running condition (I'll significantly hotrod that one after I finish the first restoration). I'm a Programmer, but also an Engineer, Machinist, Welder, Fabricator, auto body guy, painter etc, so thought it would be fun to do. I recently got all the metal bits cleaned and powder coated, straightened the axle, sourced missing bits, designing up a disc brake conversion, trying to sort out some better replacement bearings and then it will start to go back together. In the Tank pic, that's a QL lurking in the background :)

 :D Sinclair was, in many ways a visionary. An electric-boosted tricycle sounds like a thoroughly modern, and green-friendly mode of transport. But having actually seen a few petrified-looking users, back in the 80s, I'm afraid that developing a vehicle that was practically invisible to truck and bus drivers, showed how limited his vision could be at times. :problem:
That said, My first computer was the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, which needed an external cassette player, prayers and electronic CPR to get it going. It was fun, though. My kids wore it out before I had much of a chance to use it. Those were the days. I had the BBC computer after that- now, that was a leap forward.
