I disassembled to rotate the barrel and noticed it had holes on both sides. I reseated it and reassembled to test and the bb fired further than last time (about 15 feet into the wall) but there wasn't much velocity behind it.
I disassembled it again to check the sewting of the spring and runner seal. The spring looked some, I inspected the seal and it looked ok so I reassembled the unit. My test fire hit the wall and ricochet back at me so the velocity is now there! I think the rubber seal needed to be reseated with the barrel as perhaps I had not insrted the barrel in all the way.

I want to thank you all for your help again, I really appreciate it!
Hopefully the post office will stop driving the new gearboxes in circles around my house and I can get those installed.
The rubber seal is, indeed, crucial. I had a problem a while back with an airsoft canon going through the right motions, and producing the correct sounds, but- in effect- 'firing blanks'.
Essentially, the plastic lip that stops all the collected BBs piling into the gun's receiver, from the feed-tube/chute in the turret, was a little too large. In fact, it stopped the reload, unless a timely slap on the side of the turret was employed to allow the next BB to pass over the lip. It just goes to show, that sometimes even design issues can affect the gun's performance. :|
It sounds as if your spring is too weak. In the past, some customisers opted to beef the cannon's performance up by fitting stronger springs.

Jofaur seemed a little puzzled by my reference the microswitch on the gun ('circuit-breaker). Many problems stem from the switch not functioning proprerly, as it controls recoil (including track recoil), sounds and firing. This mention was just for information's sake. If it doesn't close properly, for example, the firing process will be continuous.

Looks like you've got the situation in hand, though.

perplexed? not surprised, because on the video it is shown a little hole at the bottom, and that deceived me? if not follow OWk for the concern of the switch
