Yeah, I don't follow rugby. I was like he makes comments about blacks? I never saw any...

I try to keep my damn yank comments as politically correct as I can since it seems people get offended more now than ever in my 47 years of life. I don't get offended so I guess "I just don't understand"...as the Fresh Prince of BelAir would say.

For the record.....................Mr u52 was offered a position as a mod a while back & he declined.
Mr U52 was also recently offered some constructive behind the scenes advice(NOT by me) and he declined.
He was also the topic of much positive discussion within the mod team (yes, there is one)about the intricacies of balance here today & that went well until he advised he did not want to be reinstated, under any circumstances, no.
I'm more than happy to cop the heat for being the "toe cutter"...........happy here, happy in real life.
By way of clarification :
For those overseas(in this place's case relative to me) thats almost everyone !, The "All Blacks"(TM) (thats been the name of the team for 100 plus years )are a New Zealand sports team that are pretty good, but currently not as good as The Springboks, who are a national team of South Africa as of last year, or, in fact not as good as England as of last year either................politics does not mix or have a place in sport, & I lived through the '81 tour.To place that in relative terms, it is like the England football team losing to (well anyone really) or the Canadian ice Hockey team losing to (well anyone really) etc etc etc........we all have our 'thing'
I challenge any & all members , those of you who wish to put forward your name as a moderator, to any of the mod team in private, (excluding myself)and accept the ongoing responsibility that goes with it, please do so.
It has been asked before so now again, please submit your self nomination to any of the mod team in PM & see how things go with my blessing & encouragement, not that its needed.
Lets either step up & declare a desire to be a mod & go through the process(yes, there is one) of acceptance, or, accept that there are folks that do things that may be seemingly unpopular in the open but are done in consort with others & always for the right reasons.
"let he/she who will do better cast the first stone"

I'd offer but having owned and run a large world hobby forum in the past and now been happily retired from the many and varied duties l'll decline the offer to offer myself. A poor excuse l know but it did remind me of how expensive it can be so just made my donation!
The major issue seems to be that it's so easy to take a comment the wrong way. It's how wars start

I really don't watch sports anymore on TV due to all the politics and controversy surrounding it in the US. Those things may not plaque sports in your neck of the woods, but they do in others. It seems that it doesn't matter anymore how long something has existed and that the name was not meant to be controversial, only that it is now. They just recently started renaming American football teams with names people are taking offense to. Problem is, those that are taking offense aren't even from that culture. Race relations are getting worse all over the world and the media is just making it worse. We all just need to be conscious of it and do our best to not to be part of the problem.

I missed all of this. It may be just as well. If anyone happens to have Gary's current email address, could they PM it to me? I'd very much like to keep in touch, and have little interest in doing so through RCUniverse.
I think, I used to have his old home address, and details, but he's moved since then. Now he's almost beyond reach...

Thanks.
