Looking good, we moved the axle on ours aswell and are working on some adaptor pieces aswell to lower like you have shown. Very nice work with the details, its a good looking piece

Hi,
Here is test shots of the painted model. I must admit that the results are above expectations. It is still not completely finished as i need to install the head lamps lenses, dashboard dials, makes a few corrections, add personal weapons and hopefully what will be 2 good looking SAS figures.

You never cease to amaze me Mr Mcq11
From zero to hero in what seem like a few easy steps.
The on board weapons systems look the part, and certainly will be the features of an over all superb build from such a humble beginning.
The figures will be the cream on the cake...................like we expect no less
Congratulations on a memorable and famously inspired project

I'm still learning something new every day, and this is the first time I've seen an SAS jeep with the twin vickers in the rear and the .50 on the front. I had to go to the internet to make sure, and I learned something new.
It looks like they've even got some non-combat tread tires on this one. I guess in war you work with what you have, right?
Another great build, Louis. I have one of those jeeps but I won't go to the lengths you have. Probably couldn't if I wanted to!!

Thank you Herman for your kind words and encouragements.
Thank you Max-52, this is indeed the main picture i used for inspiration for the build.
Working with this base model is not easy. All the dimensions of the chassis are totally wrong, tires are too big, level of details is basic and inconsistent. Scale is somewhere between 1/9 and 1/12 depending on what you measure... Very few parts are available in 1/10. I was lucky to find a knock off 1/10 SAS figure bust that comes with a M2 AN machine gun with mount and ammo. The Shapeways twin Vickers machine guns mount costed me twice the price of the basic model but i thought it was essential. The cost of the Jeep and the M2 was low so it also compensated for the expensive 1/10 Jerrycan. Being now so heavy with resin, replacement of the motor by a stronger one is essential. Even as light as it was originally, that little motor could barely make the Jeep climb a carpet on flat surface. Now, it is a true crawler that i can have fun with.
Here are the DioramaParts 1/10 Jeep head lights lenses installed, a rare luxury to have parts made for this model.

That looks really good. Do you have a link to dioramaparts? I tried a search but no joy.
