Thanks, gentlemen! I’m about to upgrade the speaker and I’ve ordered an Asiatam recoil/elevation unit and a flash unit and new barrel. I considered getting the Clark unit but this Asiatam is available here in the US from Imex and seems easier to install. I’m just not happy with the Taigen push/pull servo and wire set up that I have now.
If hindsight was 20/20 I sure could’ve saved tons of money and time over these past 8 months! Hell, I may end up with a Clark recoil unit some day.

I don’t like how my wiring and electronics is partially visible through the the rear deck vents. These early Tigers did not have the mesh covers so should I paint the visible stuff black or attach some thin black material under the deck? It really distracts from any attempt at realism. Image

Right, paint it is then. Thanks.
Someone should produce a shallow relief panel that can be placed under the grills that resembles the motor and fuel tanks and hoses and such. I suppose it would need some openings to allow good sound from the speaker. Just thinking out loud.

Good morning,
For a quick fix, how about printing out an engine image and mounting it on plasticard?

Painless

That’s a great idea! I’m surprised nobody sells them. Shouldn’t be too difficult to do. A thin 3D printed insert would also be nice.

And if Archers or Peddinghaus made water slide decals it would highlight the 3D effect even more.
I think the biggest problem is finding someone who makes/sells Tiger 1 three piece hinged engine covers.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

I see that you have converted to the dark side.... I've a few bb models but my collection is primarily IR and recoil capable. I think it does add a level of realism to my models.

Watching your progress. You may be able to do a detailed conversion if you have time, so other members of the forum who are not sure how to do this can watch your install.
Tanks alot....
