When I saw it on eBay I thought it would need a new paint job and generally tidying up. When I got it home and had a proper look at it my thoughts were " this is beyond repair
It's never going to be right"
Really pleased with it now though. I noticed that the recoil is not as smooth as I would like so will dismantle the turrett this evening to check things out. Other than that it just needs painting and new metal tool set as I had to cut the old ones off. They had big blobs of glue all over them.
Thanks for the help and encouragement so far gents

We are always glad to help
Just two things I noticed, the small hooks in the turret are upside down, and those small hangs are missing in the hull, next to the driver hatch. Surprisingly they are missing in Roy's tank too!
But what killed me is what you said about the owner making a living testing rc planes. Cant digest it, lol.

Interesting. What do you mean by the hangs?

I mean this. It would be a good idea if you take photos of all angles so we can see if there are more things missing.

Thanks for that. I will look at correcting these things tonight. As you suggest I will get photos from all angles
Many thanks

Apart from the missing and upside down HOOKS that RAD has pointed out you are also missing "B9" the external Bore sight aiming bar that fits immediately in front of the front Cupola viewing slit,
But a similar fitting on the Tiger 1 early immediately behind the main gun mantlet on the turret roof is about as rare as unicorn droppings on 1/16 models so don't worry about it.

Ahhh,,those eagle- eyes spotting potential prey again,eh, Rad.

Yes, thanks for that. I hadn't gotten around to fitting the hook by the driver's hatch...but I have now

You don't need to go to 'Specsavers'. I do
The orientation on the hooks is correct now for the turret and the upper hull. I guess they were for holding tarpaulins on, or camo netting. Maybe even provisions for a long assault.

Hull hook
Turret hook...

I've tried hard to find a part matching your description of the sight in front of the Cupola, and I can't find one, Shaun
Part B9 is, in fact, a tiny handle for the side hatches. I needed tweezers and a magnifying glass to fit them

Ran into a bit of a snag tonight. Found another stuck wheel. Thought I had found all of the problems.
Oh well looks like it’s the vice and the big pliers again tomorow night

For goodness sake Roy are you seriously expecting a man to read the instructions??
When I saw "B9" I knew without reference to plans or instructions exactly what it was,
I have been looking for the PZ4 Bore sight for ages,
You need to know that I was using Tamiya parts on a Heng Long/Taigen Turret/Body and the door handle is moulded onto the Heng Long and Taigen versions so I was not looking for such a part but I was looking for the Bore sight---AND I FOUND IT

or not
If you look at a close up of a Panzer 4 showing the front of the Cupola and its surroundings you will see the sight in front of the vision slit,
As I mentioned earlier the Tiger 1 early had a similar sight fitted on the turret, the only model with it that I know of being a Japanese company's 1/16 static.
And that's my story and I am sticking to it

Thanks for the website address but until a couple of years ago when my uncle Roy (Yes really) retired I got all my musical needs from his shop,
sheet music, strings, whatever, Since then I go to
www.gear4music.co.uk
good prices and a very wide range of all things musical.
