Thank you Mr Sub :thumbup:

I'm a nay on the smoker front. I remove them, but I do like the new barrel smoker effects. I haven't fitted one yet, but they do look interesting. Most of the tanks I've seen or driven that smoke are usually diesels and therefore produce thick black smoke, but normally only under full or heavy throttle. I just don't think the white smoke from these smokers looks real. I have 3 of the TCBs and also wish I had bought more of them...

Hello everyone,
I would generally remove the smoker from a new tank to allow more room for a bigger speaker. For me the preference is sound over smoke. The same goes for almost all the members in my local club.
However, I do have 2 tanks that still do have smokers. A Panzer IV Wirbelwind with a modified HL smoker with a small electric fan. This blows a plume of smoke out of the panzer iv barrel exhaust. The other is a HL Sherman 105, again with a similar modified HL smoker. But, maybe of interest for Mr 43rd and Mr Gunner, I run the power to the smoker element directly from the battery for more power and the fan from the lower voltage mfu. This helps with more smoke, and with a delay between switching on the power and starting the tank, there is an initial buildup of smoke.
I would say though, that the Sherman is not the best vehicle for this. The angled exhausts and deflector don't suit a large smoke plume. Better with a tiger 1.
Cheers
Ak

Hi all

I do not like smoke generation systems in my tanks either, they take too much space that i need for a bigger speaker.

i do like 'scale' smoke though ;D

and scale fire if possible! :haha:

I suppose I should update this thread with what I ended up doing. I installed a GI Smoker unit in my Tiger. The smoker version is the Baroness II. it runs very quietly and my Elmod board allows me to adjust the smoke output to almost non to Mount Vesuvius clouds. I've adjusted it to a medium level which is enough to provide me with childlike fun but not create a total smoke screen. Of course I can easily turn it off with the push of a button on my radio for indoor maneuvers.
Now I feel like I've tied up any lose threads here.

That is the truest thing I’ve read all day! :D Tying up loose ends is what I should’ve said. My bad.
But my responsibility to report my outcome on thread that I started is now met so let the info continue without any further interruption. :thumbup:

I use smokers in all of mine and with using an ibu I can either have mine smoking like the Sherman on the first page like my diesel m4a2 does using a tarr smoker 11v battery and parafin or I can have them so they only smoke on start up and cold running and if I use mega steam or vape liquid and a 7.4v battery on that it would be more like condensation from a cold petrol engine

I wonder if a black food dye added to the smoke oil would work for added realism :think:

The only time I've seen white smoke coming out of an exhaust is when a head gasket went, and when I accidentally put too much engine oil in :{
