Hey folks,

Had a chance to take the centurion. Since the last time I tried tightening the track tension on one of the tracks that was a little loose.

phpBB [video]

Very pleased with the results, no thrown tracks or mechanical issues in the entire time I was out. She effortlessly handles the challenging long grass and no issues turning. No grinding off cleats or crazy weight saving measures but a truly multi surface battler!

Awesome video Tom, I am so pleased that it is performing well and you are happy with it. I would say the top speed is pretty much to scale too. I hope it gives you much enjoyment and can't wait for it to get one of your fantastic paint jobs.

Cheers Alwyn. Started on the extra detailing. 40 tie downs fitted and 10 more required. Built the first of two track holders. First attempt was too wide so in the spirit of #fixthatsh!t I made new mounting tubes and cross pieces, much better now. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Sweet suffren-ass mate !!............that lots trumps my what I thought was alot of them on my Jagdtiger !!
I have looked at the pics of the Mark 5 versions I saw on a recent visit & they did not have anywhere near that many tie off points.
Can only guess that the builders of the real tanks soon got over such annoying details, like you have I imagine !! :haha:

That looks fiddly - sorry to ask a noob q, but how are you getting the brass so clean with the joints, (solder flux?) attaching to the the hull and uniform on the tie downs?

I'm assuming they are scratch built...

Super glue...(aka cheating ;) )

Drew lines for the tie downs so they went on straight

Thank you for the kind words!

I've been slowly working on the fine detail. So far I've added casting numbers on the turret and mantlet, the cables running to the smoke launchers and done most of the tool and cable mounts on one side...my eyes hurt now! The floor sarlac has been well fed as I'm incapable of holding onto these little bits, I've probably had to remake half the parts due to dropping them!
