Re: Object 704 ?????? 704
Cura auto places support where it is needed based on the angle of the surface requiring support.
Both the Rear deck and Citadel has walls that don't require support, as the angles are fairly shallow, hence they are self supporting, the support material is only there to support the horizontal 'roof' on each part.

Re: Object 704 ?????? 704
The citadel took 24 hours to print, the walls are way thicker than they need to be, but at least it is done now. I did the front valance, and I am currently printing the rear plate.
As you can see ...I have a gap between the front and rear sections, I happily copied the blueprint I found on the web, but there is obviously a slight difference in length between the KV1 and what I think is an IS2 hull on which the 704 is based. I can get around this by printing another section to slot in there as it's only 8mm.

Re: Object 704 ?????? 704
This CAD thing certainly makes designing parts something that the home hobbyist can do. It's opened a new world for me.
I even doubt my own measuring skills sometimes, The upper hull is the correct length after all. I did a rough print of the rear sloped panel and clipped it on, and raised the hull by 2.5mm to clear the tracks...and bingo, both halves meet as nature intended.

Keep up the good work
Greetings tim

That's the plan, the only problem is that the parts are so big they take hours to print....

Yeah yeah, but they take MORE hours to arrive by postwibblywobbly wrote:That's the plan, the only problem is that the parts are so big they take hours to print....

And the last time I looked...............no one stocked one of them to even put in the post
