Herman old friend, My lady has gone through just about every model of BMW since the 1800T1 and when Sarah passed her test Jan said she could have her E28,
Sarah drove it down to the shop and came back white as a sheet,
"Thanks Mum" and gave her the keys back,
She came home from work a day or two later in this Marrowfat Green Lada.
It gave Plastic a bad name,
I have driven some clunkers over the years but this was a world beater,
It had a starting handle in the boot and a tool kit you could have rebuilt the Forth Rail bridge with.
But it was about as comfortable as a trail bike but slightly slower.
I always smiled when she drove into the yard, it had a tiny pair of Pink Ballet shoes tied to the interior mirror which somehow softened it from its slab sided military look.
I shall be kind though, It was blo*dy awful. :haha: :haha:
Shaun.

A matter of opinion.

If someone is asking me this question I do not hesitate to answer:

Porche turret looks much better.

I think those 'verladeketten' are very sexy, if a KT is pussy enough to sport a Porsche turret! ;D

Yeah Right !!
Shaun.

My take on it is that most modern chobham type armour isn't designed to deflect shots like the tanks of WWII.

The chobham armour is designed to absord the blast from hits form HESH and HEAT type rounds but isn't as effective against KE-penetrators (APDS etc). Chobham armour slows down KE-penetrator rounds so that it doesn't have enough energy to penetrate the tanks steel hull.

So the pointy front armour on tanks like the Leopard 2 won't deflect shots down as it'll just absorb any shot that hits it.

Back on topic I prefer the Henschel turret as it just has a more brutal look about it. The Porsche one looks like it's been designed to go faster.
On a design point of view the Henschel turret could carry more ammo. Something you may think about if you're adding a bigger gun (with bigger ammo).

I couldnt decide betwren the 2 designs between the early turret and the production turret so i bought one of each. Problem solved.

The turrets were made by Krupp . The designs were by Porsche and Henschel. Henschel won and yet again as with the Tiger 1 Porsche lost out with its design.

.20 *ducks*

I prefer the Henschel turret. The Porsche one has that rounded front on an otherwise entirely sharply angled tank just looks out of place to me.

This is the best comparative...from rcuniverse. Nice views all-around of I believe Taigen Tigers.
