First thoughts. Obviously a flat area for the gun. Protected front left and right by rocky outcrop or hills, meaning killing the gun will require a degree of accuracy. At the rear, left or right, a ruined brick farm building, to house the battery and board. Does the board get hot? I was thinking of producing a shell covered in rubble to cover the board and battery. This would probably be expanded polystyrene, but could be made out of foam board.

A thought has just drifted through my brain. I think the howitzer used 2 part ammunition, the propellant being in the form of bagged cordite, much like large calibre naval guns. i have no idea how it was transported, but I doubt it would have been in same sort of containers as one piece ammunition.
