The one at right angles is the connection to the servo. I need to try it out. There are so many linkages. As I have no idea what I need to do, I am hoping for assistance at the BAD meeting on Sunday.

Tested the servo, with wibblywobbly's help. Despite my misgivings, the servo seems powerful enough to overcome the friction of all the joints and bearings. It did reveal, however, that some of the bolts that I thought were tight, need another turn of the screw. Onward and upward tomorrow!

A couple of modification this morning. It was very noticeable yesterday that the power of the servo was moving itelf and the mounting brackets around, o that now has the addition of a piece of 3M double sided tape hoding it in place. It was also apparent that there was not a great throw on the arm linking the servo to the steering mechanism. The vehicle will not have a good turning circle at the best of times but this would have been appalling. I removed the linkage and adjusted it by screwing the steering linkage ball end up as far as it would go and slackening off the end closet to the servo. This had the effect of moving the angle away from the gearbox. Hopefully it is apparent in this photo.

I am hoping that someone can help me. The motor supplied a an Absima 50T motor, which I have discovered is a low revving high torque motor used in rock crawlers. I have found the small indicator for the positive feed, but I am wondering what is the best way of attaching the cable to the motor.

It look as though one ought to be able to fit crimp connectors to the wires which would fit over the copper terminals on the top of the motor. However, I can't find any large enough. The only other option seems to be to solder them. I shall be grateful for any experienced based advice.

You might visit an Auto Parts store and look for something like this: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detai ... &ppt=C0189 :for those Copper flat terminals.

Thanks painless - I was originally looking for connectors like that, but wide enough to clip over the whole tab. Those I could not find. As a consequence of your post, I have remeasured just the wider portion, which comes out at 0.18" so they would do the trick.

Check the sizes, I think the yellow ones are bigger? I've used them on the Land Rover fuse (singular) so they'll easily take the load.

It's amazing how sometimes one simple statement can trigger off memories that were long forgotten. Reading painless' post suddenly made me think of those days almost lost in the mists of time when cars were simple things that you could repair yourself. As a student and then impoverished articled clerk, I used to do all my own car repairs. At one time I had a glass fibre sports car that was forever having problems with electrics. Where is all this reminiscing leading you may ask. Well, to help me fix the electrics I remembered having a long length of wire with this sort of connector. Even more amazingly, I remembered where it might be, all these years later. Lo and behold, I found it AND the connectors are exactly the right size to fit on the whole tabs of the motor.

So thank you once again painless . Probably not quite the result you had envisaged, but I am now one happy bunny.
