How would you use this on the base version if you need a spare channel? mine have 4 and one for recoil..there's no where to plug it in.

It plugs into a spare channel of the radio receiver, so you need a 5 or more channel radio set to be able to use the unit.

Ian can I use this neat setup to control the volume on any board that accepts the Heng Long Taigen 3 pin setup? Or is only going to calibrate properly with my ibu2 board?

You calibrate it to the radio not the IBU. The unit interfaces between hobby grade radio and then plugs into any electronics your using. If your using the standard henglong or taigen electronics it can't be used unless you've ditched the standard radio for a hobby grade version.

That's correct it's a 10k ohm linear resistor output. Although I don't think you can control the smoker as the load would be too much, but you could use it to control a control circuit which is controlling a motor.

greetings, been out of touch for awhile. The remote volume is very interesting. I want to add that to my Tiger. However, I am running 2 mato and the visitron amped speaker(1) from Tankbear. The sound is not that great... what can I do to increase the quality? How about the speaker box for the visitron? Open to suggestions...... O'Neal

Yes added to a sealed box really helps control the speaker so you get a crisper sound out the front. I did some videos on my website here
