Crisp Mr Soeren, very nice.
If you had not mentioned the old vent position I would have missed it.
The spare track hangers are very well done.
Enjoy the pins & chains for them ! :/

Have you decided on a camo for it yet ?

Yes, I am very excited about the Pins as well

16 to do... 12 for the track holders and 4 for the C-Hook holders.

I am not sure about the camo yet. That is why I bought 1/76 and 1/35 JP model kits, to try it out a bit.
I was about doing sand yellow base and then add a lot of green and brown... OR, I do green base and add brown and some yellow. Absolutely not sure yet.

Oh oh, after i broke one of The hangers again, after handling the Hull I went full retard and ordered the shumo hangers. It is not a good IDE to have such fragile parts exposed. It might work when adding the track links and glue them in place, but that is not a good idea before painting the tank.

Some tiny Progress, still waiting for the Shumo parts. Inside back hatch Details...

Doesnt matter too much, I still have o learn painting. So I got 2 JP Model Kits, one 1:76 Revell and the 1:35 Tamiya, I am doing at the Moment, together with a Miniart Diorama base.

This Kind of camo pattern is not too bad. This is roughly based on one of the Tamiya instructions and on Picture.

But maybe I stay yellow/green on the big Boy.

That is a great looking recoil unit. Is it available on Chris Ludwig's website?

Yes, that was a Ludwig kit. It is made from 3mm material. I guess aluminum plates would be even better because of better rigidity. We will see how this kit holds up to use. The force on the lifting and traverse shouldn't be too much. I'm not sure about the recoil at the moment. Because the barrel fit is not fantastic. But that has to do with the hl construction of the barrel and the support in mantlet and the clamp.

That Revel one.............its the same as the one I got in Matchbox back in the early '70's :{
Diorama base & all.

The B&W pic was also one I looked at for reference when I did the 'mid' version JP.
Honestly, I do prefer the late versions with all the accouterments moved to the rear.

Rear hatch detail is very good. Its things like that which add to the overall finish.

Good work

I would guess that Revell just bought all those Kits schemes. Because I might remember to have built this one 25 years ago as well. Also the PzII I remember well. Those small Diorama bases add a lot to those tiny kits. Although I am not really impressed about the kit itself. I will stay wiht 1/35s for Training kits.

As for Training , I am still working on the Jagdpanther Diorama as a reference for the 1/16.

The Miniart Diorama is a great starting Point and with all the stuff avalable now, Pigments, various heavily pigmented washes and the Terrain modelling like Mud and smear, even a novice like me can get out something. I am not too unhappy with the current state although much detailing and blending is still to do on the tank.
Interesting also to see, how the camo behaves in black and White.

Any criticism is welcome, I would like to learn and improve.

Nice work on the dioramas Soeren, you'll have no trouble transferring the same skills and techniques to the big one. It's coming along very nicely, looking forward to seeing you wrap it up!

I built the same kit in the '90s, too. I think it might have come with a bunch of little panzergrenadiers by then, but I might be misremembering it.

Hello Guys,
still waiting for some parts, but I was impatient and started painting. I decided for a painting scheme now: Red base coat and then build up layers of Dark Yellow RAL7028. The lower still has some Areas where the red still visible through the yellow. Thought that could go with the "Color saving" becausde of paint dhort comings during the later years of 1944-1945. Then, after you guys introduced me to scaleeffect and modulation, I added some aged white 10-15% and sprayed Clouds onto the larger surfaces. After that I wanted to add Highlight to the top and the Corners and found that the Vallejo Model Air Lught/Luz has a tone very Close to darkyellow, but much lighter. So I went with that. The tank looked wuite nice so far.

For the camo I went with just some dark green as shown here
From what I see, the Revell JP has the same scheme. I didnt intend to copy that scheme though.

Because I recently bought the wrong green RAL 6007 instead of 6003, I added the Vallejo light green 006 at around 50% dark to 40% light green, it gives a very nice tone. Here is the first coat for the camo layout. Have to repaint it, to make an even layer.

PS.: By Building a 1/35 Dragon Panther G, I see all the shortcomings and missing Details in the 1/16 tanks. What a pity.
