If you have time in the next day or so can you please post your diagram for this setup? Thank youc.rainford73 wrote:Did you wire your 8 pin connector like the photo I posted?wibblywobbly wrote:I switched a T90 board into an old HL Tiger, but mine is wired so that I have:
Left stick - Left/Right = Turret rotation.
Left stick - Up/Down = Barrel Elevation.
Left stick = Fire Button + Up Right = Fire Main Gun and Muzzle Flash.
There is no BB unit or recoil.
There is no IR system installed.
The Right stick operates as normal.
If anyone wants the wiring for this configuration pop a post up here and I will post a wiring diagram.
sorry to bug you just figured to copy your setup.
I will try to bind the radio and tx again

Re: T90 board into Tiger 1 question
EDIT: Having now tried to swap the T90 back to HL factory spec, the wiring diagram below isn't working....so back to the drawing board as far as that is concerned. I can only get the turret to turn one way...??
Scrap that...the turret rotation esc on the RX18 has blown so its only working one way.
*******
This chart shows the connections on the T90 RX18 for a non-airsoft tank.
To get the airsoft circuit my guess is that you connect pin 5 and either pin 1 or pin 4, to the airsoft motor.
Edit: This may be pins 2(+) & 5(-), the 5 pin CN3 must be installed to complete the circuit.
The complicated part is that HL take the 8 pin socket on the RX18, and feed it into a socket on the underside of the hull. This plug has the wires in the reverse order as far as I can remember.
The wiring then goes via a variety of 8 or 2 or 3 pin sockets (depending on what tank and how old it is) to various turret components.
It is difficult for anyone not familiar with wiring to track where the wiring goes. To do this you need to dismantle the tank/turret and examine each wire in turn.
My solution is always to remove all of the wiring and install my own, with each component wired straight back to CN8, it's a lot less wiring and it makes it very easy to fault find.

Re: T90 board into Tiger 1 question
Being largely uninterested in Tanks post- WW2 (apart from the Chally 2..), I'd not paid much attention to the recent discussions on the revised RX/TX associated with the New Heng Long T-90.Tiggr wrote:I think I have figured out why the main gun isn't firing - the 8 pin loom is wired in the exact opposite of the original Taigen loom.
Time to wheel out the led magnifier to carry out said operation.
As other esteemed colleagues have already commented the sound is a huge improvement over the older HL sound![]()

Having just watched a few demos, though, I'm impressed by the quantum leap in credibility, even proportionality, of the Tanks' new sound files . The 'one-sound-fits-all' nightmare seems to be ending at last. Finally, Heng long have been listening to modellers...or their bankers

Here's Scalawag's (Paul's) demo of the T-90 revised features. Hopefully, other models will benefit from related upgrades....

Not news to some, I know, but might be news to others speculating on a first tank. Also, it's worth mentioning the generous bags of accessories Heng Long have provided with their recent models. This represents an all round improvement from the woeful early days..

Re: T90 board into Tiger 1 question
The only thing that HL now lack is an industry compatible IR system. If they did that, or someone brought out a £20 plug in unit, they would put everyone else out of business. I pulled the RX18 from the T90 purely because I want IR in the T90. The board went into a cheap Tiger 1, and with a few cheap modifications is an excellent tank with Tiger sounds.
HL - Are you listening? If Darkith could provide a unit for the old boards, and Clark can build a board the same size, it must be possible for you to build something and mass produce it at minimal cost??

Re: T90 board into Tiger 1 question
..a few belated thoughts on this topic. There's a radically different 8-pin connector board for the T-90 (same for revised Crusader 2 and Sherman)
Looks like using the new HL TX/RX (v4 with two sound options) would also make this bit somewhat essential: Did you all have this part too?
Andrew Haya sells it (also trades as DingDing on eBay). he also sells the TX/RX.
What puzzles me is that he describes this version as 'version 5.3', whereas other vendors describe the system as v4. To all intents and purposes, they appear identical. Nonetheless, the improvement if the elevation feature is very welcome, as are the proportional engine sounds. I wonder whether the wiring to the airsoft safety switch has been altered/modded ?(as per Imex-Erik's tutorial on adapting airsoft wiring to meet Clark's TK22 requirements)....If it hasn't then fitting this system to other models without the revised airlift wiring would prove problematic, even with the new connector, I think.
Here Erik explains how to get rid of the barrel elevation looping effect that plagued
HL/Taigen tanks before this new v4 TX/RX system was launched.

Re: T90 board into Tiger 1 question
I've just compounded my problems....................going to use a Taigen Tiger 1 recoil/elevation unit on my Jagdtiger & now the project just got harder
I think I will have to try to purchase the new style 8-pin plug distribution mini board to make life easier.
I will need recoil, and elevation, but no rotation, so at least one lest function to try to integrate.!!

Re: T90 board into Tiger 1 question
Looking in the parts section of the H/L T-90 instructions the part number for this 8 pin socket is :
- TK-EC013D
And the corresponding 8 pin double ended plug is
- TK-EC019
These are genuine H/L numbers.
I just cant get things to work so I think I will try to buy them.
I still have the Taigen recoil to get going once I get the radio operational

Re: T90 board into Tiger 1 question
The board I have does not look like the ones in earlier photos.
Have a look.
What is the blue socket for ?
I can't get the BB to work and the smoke unit only works if I plug it into the red socket.
