How much did you raise the suspension, what size shim height on the suspension arms? Can you attach picture showing the inserted spacer you fitted etc? Thanks

Appreciate the step in, Herman. That's basically what I did on mine. I cut pieces of thick sheet plastic in a strip the width that I wanted the wheels raised, then cut short pieces of that and tack glued them into the guide slots. I think mine are just a bit taller than Herman's.

If anyone wants a picture of what I came up with, just let me know and I'll snap one and get it posted.

Managed to get some time to work on this beast. Been a bit of rough times this summer, but that's all almost over with. Anyway, here's where we're at now...

Here's the control cab. I've started on the panel and gauges, just don't have a shot of it yet. Cut some tread plate for the floor of the platform and cab. Here's an overall view. I finished up the hull, so it should be done. Basically I closed up all the mounting holes that weren't needed, and added some steps. The upper is in it's first coat of primer, the final color is going to be gloss orange. Just recently ordered up the ducted fans and motors to it, so it'll be a bit before they get here.
I'll be out of touch for a few weeks, but as soon as I get some more head way made, I'll get some more pictures posted.

Coming along nicely Bill, the structure looks great. It looks like you might need some small rollers around the edge of the turret ring to stop the long superstructure from sagging, especially once you add the weight of the big ducted fans.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll have to come up with something for the turret. Waiting for the fans and motors to start construction on the jets. Hopefully I can get it to balance out.

I guess this is what you'd call a deep diving submarine post!

I had gotten stuck on how to make the jet engine bodies and how to power them, as well as some medical issues, but I think I might have them worked out.

Here's the bodies for the engines. PVC pipe and some wire added to give the look of all the plumbing on the real thing. I only did part of it as most of them will be covered by the shields. And mounted on the hull. The intake end. And the business end. I made the turkey feathers out of copper sheet. Just cut, overlap, and solder.

Here's the covers that go over the jet engines.
The lower loops are made out of 12 gauge house electric wire and attached to the covers. The covers are not mounted to the engines yet as I figured it'd be easier to paint with them separate.
