Front hatches now off and will be made to operate. They will be used to lube the gear box clusters.
Hit the sides with the "renovator" sanding tool and ripped a lot of the surface off especially around the angle transition from the correct sides to the incorrectly angled upper casemate.
Hopefully the sharp angle change will be less obvious, and the extra track should help.
Now I have to make a drawing of the mudguard mounting block positions so I can reposition the last set once the stretch has been done.
I have decided on 16mm being the extra length.
I will give it the rub over with super glue as well before any primer.
The sanding of the inaccurate side transition wont change the fact its wrong, but should reduce the visual error.
Funny thing is I sort of like the fact its not right, its a rare matorro after all, and to some extent it needs to retain a degree of 'wrongness' to remain a Matorro conversion.
Mate it's a Razor Saw. I would say all good hobby shops carry them,
They are available in different blade widths as well,
This is a new one as I used my other to cut brass do its a bit blunt,

Some days I could easily practice sawing people in half
Got on with the back doors.
Ran several slits down the moulded hinge sections after cutting the main mounts away from the doors.
Filed the crap out of them and now need to make inserts to take the double hinge.
Once they are suitably free, I can drill out all the bolt holes and use dress making pins to secure them to the rear bulkhead.
I need to figure out how to cut the rear engine hatch out using thread, normal cotton wont do it as I found out
Have a plan to install a dual speaker, one for the tank rc sounds, the other to run an I-pod with pre loaded sounds or music.
Im sure a bit of Ramstein blaring out of a Jagdtiger would not be too out of place some days !!
Lower hull is on its way Herman! Shipping sucks to Australia good lord! But I hope the surprise I threw in there makes it worth while. Let me know when it arrives but it's sent 5 day priority.
I found that the hulls were in fact lengthened over the King Tiger by 260mm, so in our scale thats 16.25mm or 5/8th Inch to you left hand drivers !
16mm will be good enough for this kid as planned.
I will admit to being apprehensive about making the cut on Mr Jacks lower hull when it arrives, but that will pale in comparison to doing the same to the actual upper
