The shop I used to tech airsoft for used to stock some tiny units ..about a half inch square....they didn't record either...but it was possible to hook it into a laptop and use a usb for recording... range was about 50 meters more or less the camera ran on a 9v ....receiver as well and both came with AC adapters not bad for under 99 dollars US...If I had known I was going to get into tanks perhaps I should have got one...too late now though :'(

I know...we used to have a bunch of spy gear as well...some really cool stuff...cameras in tie tacks ..cigarette boxes things like that...I know they are out there...but not at the price I could have gotten them for lol....to be honest though...I kind of enjoy viewing my tanks as they are ;) ...but everyone has their own preferences....so if you like the birds eye view...more power to ya

Took time away from my rc trail rig....Finally had the time to run the tanks battery all the way down, took 45 mins indoors on tile floor....so almost no load on tank.
Had a blast with it.
Steering was still the same
Tried again on carpet, battery lasted almost 30 mins
Steering still the same.
Ill have to live with it

Why not some video so we can idendify the problem for you. Battery for 30min is OK. What type of battery is it? HL stock battery just 15 to 20 min only.

You have to take it outside Igotit :haha: it's tough to run a tank full throttle indoors :haha: :haha: ....Don't get down too much on the steering ..it sometimes takes a while to get used to the Feel....all my tanks are HLs....and I can make them crawl ;)

I just ordered a new camera from bang good. Ten bucks, and the camera is 3/8 square. This camera will go in the IR system on the Panther tank as a targeting camera with a screen on the TX. That way I can just glance down to see where my cannon is pointing, no matter what relation I have to the tank.

Another little project I'm working on that you may find interesting is a laser pointer for my airsoft Sherman. I'll make it look like one of the old 16mm movie cameras from the news reel teams, with the two film cans like mickey mouse ears, then mount it so it lines up with the barrel. I won't get elevation info but I'll at least know which direction the BB is gonna fly. :)

Hi max
regarding you lazer pointer I used the unit from inside a pen pointer off e-bay £1.99 If you break open the pen the lazer unit is only 5mm dia by 15mm long. I built mine into the sight housing on the top of my abrams. The power supplies came from a small step down circuit board that took the 7.2v down to 3v and a simple switch on the airsoft unit to switch it on. you touched the airsoft cannon switch and it pulled back the piston about 2mm to switch the lazer on. Put her on target then when you fired the airsoft the piston came all the way back and fired and when it went forward it switched off the lazer. ready for next time.
