That's really great, Paul. I'm not even gonna try and match that quality but I should be able to get something passable together. The photos of the guy with the map will be a big help, and I see at least one other that I have still in the box waiting to be built, the gendarme (sp?). I also have a horse, but it's not the same kit. Is that horse a Dragon model?

The airsoft recoil is working! I'll upload some video soon. I think the Highlander will be interested. It's an easy fix and if he has trouble with the clark board this may help him get it ironed out.

Thanks for the link, Paul, that's very cool stuff. I think my fave is the mountain man. Figure building in small vignettes like that is a fascinating hobby unto itself and I've always been amazed by the level of quality in these things. I can only hope for a passable rendition and I don't think I have any that are ever really finished. I have both the Dragon kits with horses, one almost done and one just getting started. Here's a shot of the first one I did, notice he still doesn't have stirrups and the reins are all wrong, but I'm not really going for a super detailed soldier model, more just a background piece for the tanks. I'd love to be able to make every single piece in the village to absolute perfection, but time and laziness battle against that end every day.

But back to horses, as great as yours looks, one of my dirty little secrets is that I'm afraid of resin. I've done a little bit with it, mostly really small stuff in 1/32 and 1/24 aircraft, But I have to admit I don't like it and I try to avoid it wherever I can. Something as big as a horse made entirely of resin is something I'd be scared to death of. All that money just so I can screw it up? No thank you, I'll stick to good old injection molded styrene whenever I can.

OK, I cheated on this guy and bought him RTR, but he's still my newest crew member. Now I have to figure out which tank to assign him to. This the Mato Sherman Tank Commander, but I don't know if it comes with an all metal Mato tank. I got it from Matomart, which I think is in Canada but the package was shipped from China. So the first part is Sherman stowage and the TC shows up about halfway in, in case you want to skip ahead to 3:10 (no, not goin' to Yuma).

Excellent figures, Tao; really quite convincing. Yours are great too, Gary, but I had to smile at your Jaagdtiger driver: he's a dead ringer for the demented actor, Klaus Kinski! Scar-eeey

I googled Klaus and you're right. Kinda freaky. I decided to put the new guy in the Walker Bulldog. The search for tank commanders continues. I gotta have a talk with my recruitment office. Those boys are really slackin' off lately.

Had a bit of time yesterday so I finished off painting the rest of the figure and accessories, I made the gators for the boots out of green stuff as I think they look better than just having him wear the hi boots,

Cheers, Lee.

wow that's bright green ? have you looked at vallejo paints ? they do suitable colours for british infantry.but this is the paras, right ? have you shaved the LE303 to fit the hand ? very rare find that figure. british camo can be quite hard to do but because it fades in you can get a way with a great deal

Haven't been to this thread for a while, as I haven't had any new recruits lately, but thanks to Tao and his cousin Greg I have a little something to post. Thanks again, guys!

I was hoping to have many more figures completed by this time, but that darn real life keeps getting in the way!
