Bits turned up so I can move along a bit with the build.

Metal headlights to replace the missing ones.

Engine grills.

Scratch built a track holder for the front hull.

A "mid" Tiger has, by definition, the early wheels. If it had other wheels, it would be a "late" Tiger.
The early tracks were present on about the first half of the Mid Tiger batch.

You can make an Early in to a Mid without doing anything at all to the hull. So long as it's the "final" version Early Tiger. Keep the Feifels and the two headlights.

The turret, on the other hand, needs;
- the cupola with swivel hatch - possibly swivelling forwards
- a "plug" pistol port instead of the big one

Do the jan/feb 44 tigers with steel wheels but standard roof thickness and not armoured turret ring still count as late then?

Don't know my mid/late tigers but sure David will be able to confirm. Mine will be a 'late' early version as per tank A23 on the link on the last page.

There's no official dictionary reference of the term "Late Tiger", but yes, that is the majority interpretation.

Lucky you Mr Lav, the muzzle brake has been purloined by a long standing errant soldier that has links to the black market, now if only I could remember his name & rank !

Muzzle break is inside the hull :D

That's my wife's advent calendar, I don't get one unless I buy myself one lol

Got to decide what bits to pinch and rob for which tank now!

Thanks Alan :D

Been busy this afternoon with both the Tigers.

Fitted a metal barrel and early muzzle break to the 'Tunisian Tiger'

Then altered the turret of the mid Tiger using parts Nigel sent me.
Schumo cupola, mid/late vents and periscope.

I think I'm clear on what to do now!

Early Tiger (grey one) Tunisian Tiger

Mid Tiger (camo one) Mid version in Europe.

Herman Hi.I wonder if you were referring to the light fingered Gefrieghter Griffin this being just before he got posted to a Shwere Panzer Battalion where he polished his abilities by pinching Tiger 1 Jacks ? :haha:
I keep telling myself to build a "Stug" but you come along and shame anything I could do :lolno:
I Might just jump on the "Challenger" band wagon unless a "Centurian comes along soon. :/

Do you want to know the changes necessary to make that a true Tunisian Tiger?
