I gave it some thought, but I really don't like the idea of relocating the turret rotation motor and hoping it survives the abuse of my friends toddlers trying to turn the tank via the gun barrel

I've got an El-Mod CSI set to complete the turret internals in the post, after that its on to the zimmerrit :-\

I understand , like yourTiger . Hace you swaped the suspension arms around . I cant do mine now as I have sealed the bottom so you cant get to them , unless I rip it all out ? Not sure yet . I was worried about the motor moving but it seems ok , only time will tell. Ive been fidling with my crank starting holes , so it has the two .

I'm not sure you can switch the arms around with a standard hull, I'm using the Asiatam replacement chassis for my build - The upper half is a Matorro Tiger, the turret and gun barrel are correct but the chassis is not only the original crappy HL design (i.e. pre the metal chassis supports and screw in wheels) but the gearbox is also not all that sturdy either :-\
The Asiatam replacement not only offers superior suspension, it also allows the easy fitting of their 3:1 hi-torque gearboxes

Anyway, went after the low hanging fruit today - painted my pair of Pershings. I'm not sure what hurts worse, Zimmeritt moulding with a screwdriver, or holding an airbrush for 2 hours :-\

Hi Mart sounds a better option shame Im out of work are they alot ? . Thought I was the only one who did Zimmereitt with a screwdriver ? As I said b4 Im no good with electroniics , motors etc Im unsure on the RX18 so Im just getting the tank done . Am I ok to number my tank 112 as it hasnt been listed on the post ?

The Asiatam tub is 89 euros, so something to save up for I'm afraid - I only got mine because a friend owed me...
You are not alone with the screw driver technique - most zimeritters do it that way! (Tho it hurts like hell for those of us who are working on a case of arthritis

)

You are ok with 112, I've just not got around to updating that post - thanks for reminding me!
It's a shame that Cobbaton is out of reach for you, but I'll try to paste you into the line up via Paintshop pro

What electronics are you trying to fit? I use a mixture of Rx-13 and -14 with DBC or DBCRC2HL for the most part, and Scorpion HX ESC's and Tankhobby's battle units for tank destroyer / SPG applications.
I've not seen a Rx-18 yet, but others here have them. I'm sure we can help you out with the wiring.

Thanks Ive not changed the basic RX13 smoke and sound Heng Long system in my tank other than replacing my main board , my fault pulled a wire of and it damaged the board thats why I was thinking of the RX18 and was going to get the battle system . But Im not rushing into anything at the mo trying to finish the tank . Any advice , help would be welcome thanks . I have pictures in my books showing tank 112 in Normandy Kocked out next to the PZ IV , front and rear views . It has the mud flaps . The mounts have got knocked of mine so Ive replaced them . Im now working on the turret . Ive lowered the centeral hole between the bins and added the mushroom, Im now altering the angle of the bins and working on opening hatches , its just making tiny hinges . Another thing I thought of was the cureved sliding rod on the top oblong hatch thinking of adding that . Another thing I need is the tow cable holders but its just the Â£/$ >:( for me at the mo .

I have replaced the RX 14 that was in my tiger with a RX 18 board it runs the tank in exactly the same way and I am in the process of doing the same to my bulldog, also replaced the lower hull with the asiatam tub and with the swing arms givving the correct orientation to the suspension on both sides, I think it is well worth the money.

Yer Ive been told about the aisiatam tub , but unfournutaly Im out of work so I cant afford that at the mo , Im lucky my dad has a decent work shop I keep doing bits to my Tiger I . But I have a Tamiya KT full option , Tamiya KT basic but up rated nearly full option , HL Pz III / Stug conversion and my sons HL Panther ausf G to work on ,I know there no good I bourght this S&S a while ago . Ive corrected the frontal armour , mud flaps and it has dished wheels with the 1000000000000000 bolts added one by one

but stil Tiger style . Hes happy with it . Im thinking of scratch building one . As for the electronice Im holding off until I can decide realy . thanks

Hope your well, Ive hacked the turret bins apart today and corrected the end angles , added the mushroom . I did this before but improved it . Ive removed the lids and made new plastic ones Ive just got to see if I can make some small hinges , if not I will just glue them back on ?

LTM there is a topic on here by FV432 about making hinges from brass ( boy does he love brass, But not in a sexual way you understand)
