Pete (971wright) very kindly made a Panther aluminium muzzle brake for me which looks a hundred times better than my plastic tube effort. It really finishes the model.

Hi Chris Its stunning the only word for it .If it runs as well as it looks my Firefly will have no chance .Its a credit to you .Look forward to fighting it with my Firefly .

Stunning that's all I can say. You really did one heck of a job. Where did you find the time to finish so fast?

It looks like you changed the idlers to the ones from TZ. If you did how are they working out? I haven't had a chance to run mine. I'm still putting along on.

So what is your next project?

Apart from having to rip it apart and start again,  ( I've (sort of) enjoyed the build. It's taken quite a bit more effort to get to this stage than I thought it would but that's usual for me. I'm always biting off more than I can chew.

"Oh yes! I can knock one of those up. No problem!" - When will I ever learn?? 

I have to thank you Richard for giving me the incentive to finish this scratch build in the first place. So it's all your fault! 

I don't think I would have done it otherwise. I think it would have remained on the shelf until it dissolved with age!

I'm looking forward to seeing how your Panther 'D' works out. It's a pity we can't photograph and video the two Panthers together, they would look great side by side.

And mustn't forget you Pete for making that brill muzzle brake for me. Your Firefly and my Panther in the same battle would be most historically appropriate as well as looking good too. Thanks again Pete.

I forgot to mention the early Panther idlers from TankZone. They arrived quite quickly (within a week - which is very fast for them). Needless to say though the other part of the same order (German tank crew) is still pending -sigh! The idlers are very well cast and come complete with internal bearings too. They were a doddle to fit but I have had a bit of trouble with the right hand track occasionally throwing itself off the new idler. I'm not sure what is going on there but I'm sure I'll work it out eventually.

I've lifted the electronics from one of my unfinished Tamiya's and I just might leave them in there. I was going to use HL RX18 and Darkith's DBU/DBC but I might save that for another project.

Just need to fit the IR combat sensors in the commander's cupola and tidy up the internal wiring and it should be just about finished. Never fully finished of course, none of our tanks ever are, are they? LOL
