Well that's the road wheels done.

Started with a T-34 full spider:
- milled out the ribs
- cut a donut out of 0.75mm styrene
- bonded it to the dished milled surface
(used a clamp and a socket to make the donut take the dish shape)
- used an m6 finishing washer for the hub
- T-34 hub cap
- added the wheel nuts
- repeated 10 times

Spent Saturday watching the rugby with a few beers, so only a couple of hours on the Cromwell this weekend.

- Road Wheels on, still need to think about what to do with the transmission
- Weld lines on the raised air intake and drivers hatch
- Side rads on the fenders
- Headlights, reshaped some PzIII ones
- Made a start on the commanders hatch
- Rear deck hinges, using cut down Kavan nylon ones
- Handles, was going to use brass wire but then saw the paper clip on my ref pictures, one with the square top, and they are nearly the perfect scale. 20 paper clips and 20 handle all the same!

Thanks Guys.

Herman, those T-34 wheels came from your neck of the woods - as did the tracks, idler wheels, PzIII headlights, MG's, metal suspension arms and all the accessories(fuel cans, ammo crates, tools etc). All from Tank Army!

I would have loved to buy Chris' metal road wheels but couldn't stretch the budget. This solution was less than £10 material and then just the time to tweak.

Well that's the Taigen recoil unit in, she finally has her gun now.

Nice little units gives me the recoil, elevation and the high intensity flash in one - another great buy from Welshdragon, the new stock arrived

Needed more persuasion than I thought, basically I'm putting the Taigen unit in upside down, because my turret access is from the top. This meant the elevation angles were wrong, ie was tending to point towards the ground. Added to that my reference surface was below the gun line instead of above it. For my next build lesson learned, if using the Taigen unit, its easier to build the turret with the top panel fixed!!

A bit of thought, a saw blade, a scalpel and lots of glue required...

hi

nice build man :-). i just found your build report and i like it very much, expecialy your road weel solution.
The roadweels are a main problem of the kit, making them in a factory mades them so expensive :-(. but using the t-34 roadweels with the discs is a very good way.
