HL Leopard 2 - Tank Overhaul
Re: HL Leopard 2 - Tank Overhaul
I think it will not work - it will be too fast and turret will be rotating only in one direction.
Try something like this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/BGC-2-0-Brushle ... 1e7c387bb1

Re: HL Leopard 2 - Tank Overhaul
Thank you for pointing that out. Last time I checked they did not have Leopard 2 yet.wibblywobbly wrote: Elmod have Leopard 2 sounds in their library. If they are not on your system, you can download them from Elmod.

But I have a problem - they also upgraded hardware and new sound sets do not work on boards with old firmware. This means that or I have to send them my elmod for software upgrade, or buy a new one

Hey van, did you get my last pm?
Re: HL Leopard 2 - Tank Overhaul
oh, I see it. Sorry.
Re: HL Leopard 2 - Tank Overhaul
Success! I updated firmware myself and uploaded new sd card content. It works
The only problem I see is missing turret sounds in Leopard set. But at least I have a great engine sound - I should be able fix the rest later.
I also made some progress with mudguards:

I also sarted working on the transformation of my old Futaba transmitter into FPV station:

I want to install two screens... I hope it won't cut my head off

Re: HL Leopard 2 - Tank Overhaul
Just been reading the site http://www.rceifel.de/forum/showthread.php?t=8151it seems that they now encrypt their sounds so that they cannot be used by other systems. I don't blame them, as it must have taken a lot of work to create their soundfiles. It is 15 euro's to get the old board upgraded, and rather than buy the configurator you could ask them to load the Leopard sounds on at the same time?vanhasen wrote:Thank you for pointing that out. Re: HL Leopard 2 - Tank Overhaul
I did a bit of research and finally found out that if you have "bootloader" version of elmod and blaster modules ("bl" after version number on the sticker) you can upgrade firmware yourself. I was able to do it
But life is not so easy - now I have nice engine sond, but no turret sounds... I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

Re: HL Leopard 2 - Tank Overhaul
This time I have no cnc-related update
Just some standard manual work. Yet - I used aluminium
I removed the original paintwork and applied anti-slip surfaces on the turret:

What allowed me to start painting process. First the primer:

Then a bit of base green:
