But that's not the way you came in Tom... you came in directly telling me the capacity of the compressor..which is moot..because line pressure is different from nozzle pressure tankless compressors only put out so much...it can "build" but not maintain...it will hit a point of level air flow ..and that's it....I use suction feed guns...so my pressure demands are a tad higher...reason I like piston compressors....as they maintain a higher air flow to the nozzle...and I don't have to worry so much about my paint mix....with my Passche H external mix...I can shoot undiluted paint...so perfect for clear coats...(no flash)...as diluting them has curing problems...something you simply cannot do with low pressure gravity fed guns .... with my dual actions like my VL and Badger...I can get super thin lines from 1/16 to a 1/4 of an inch
Gravity feeds are a different animal....the Paint mix is critically important to get the proper affect

Thing is...it's all comes down to the shooter...a heavy finger can get bad results.... know your gun...find the finite point and widest point...then go from there

Gravity fed you are kind of restricted depending on the gun...some have three sizes of cup...others the cup is built on the gun...so no option ...to which I can only say...refilling those top mounted cups is a Pain in the butt

Hey Canned.... heres one of my oldest but still one of my favorite airbrushes....it's an external mix...a strange one you don't see them often



notice the capacity of the paint jar..holds over 2oz of paint or whatever...back in the day...this was used to cover large areas...also called a shading brush
has a pattern of 3 to 8 inches ...so would cover your Sherman in about two passes



It is also one of the most unusual guns I've ever had... as you can see there is no trigger mech... you use your finger to control the air by totally blocking the hole and any gradient of finger position after that

Simple but effective... I pretty much use it for cleaning my other airbrushes now

my poor m60 not a mention ....any way I have found on practise that its low pressure for me I can be more refined/controlled ,but if one is doing a overall spray job I pump it up to 40ish but it seems to be ok round 15/20 psi when dilution is ok ,so now chaps back to the m60 ......wot wot .......and thanks, advise is always appreciated ........

Good for you Canned...because I couldn't see your airbrush it's hard to tell what kind of nozzle it has....probably a medium point ...now that you got some practice on the control of it....Are you going to redo the Camo ? You won't have the Hard lines like you had before....you can use two different methods too ..you can either go with the black doing lines like in a coloring book..then fill in the empty spots with the green....or go with the green then (if you are confident enough) outline the green.....don't worry too much if you don't get it perfect the first time....as you can backtrack with any of the colors and just fade them in

By the way Canned ...did the kit come with any extras? like a finer nozzle and needle?

Also ...when you paint a whole tank...you can adjust the needle from the back...pull it back a notch....it will give you a wider pattern

You use a mask Canned? if not ...definitely do...doesn't have to be a fancy respirator...particle masks are good enough ..so long the the paint you are using isn't toxic ...if you use oil based paints...yeah definitely go with a charcoal filtered mask
