You know Hotte... when I look at all the work you've done on the framing... and I know you have to do it...but it's almost ashamed you have to cover it all up...now...where's the guy with the Panzer Faust going to be... and where will the machine gun go..... There is so much potential in this..you could even outfit it with an IR system... and have it be an acting part in your war games.... be cool if you knock out some tanks with it

Maybe even put some remote triggers in it ...so wood shoots out simulating a hit on it

with so many good ideas you should build your own house, I'm sure it will be the perfect war building (or better a machine) something like "Transformers"...
As I wrote, at our battlefield we have a village without war damages - peacetime...
But our battlefield has of course also a practice respectively war area...

The question was how come my roofers on the roof; I build no diorama but only a house, so a scaffolding was no alternative. So I decided to install a ladder. Here is the first side cheek.
Here are both cheeks, one already drilled. As rungs I've used again skewers.
Here the stair almost done - one cheek is already sanded and just glued the second cheek. Let dry, then the second cheek can be ground. The dimensions are just so appreciated - I had no old wooden ladder to measure it there.
Here stands the ladder on a trial basis at the intended location...

Here is now the finished ladder, with rounded corners top and bottom of both sides diagonally grinded, so you can always find a good grip with the ladder.
Before I could now actually start with the masonry work, I had to protect the lower part of my house against weathering. I've long thought about, with which preservatives I would get the best result.
I've used hard wax oil. Actually, not intended for outdoor use, but I have so my wood floor boards painted in the hallway in my apartment and have never regretted the investment. No cracks, no flaking, weekly wipe does not matter and also simply overpainting is no problem.
But I had only had a colorless variant; with a drop oil paint I've mixed the shade.
For an adult with normal sized hands not so simple; some rooms are still very small and require at paint a lot of tact.
Next time it goes on with the bricklayers...

Ahh, gidday mate, Im from the Council Building Inspectors Office. I believe you may be in breach of one of the codes by constructing without a current permit and planning approval.
You'll have to take it all down Im afraid.....................
