On the top switches left front engine, left rear lights, right front machine gun, right rear cannon fire on the spring loaded switch. It works beautifully!
The man is a friggin' genius!

Does it have a button that does this

now that would be cool

Really ? Where on the transmitter ? I sold mine that came with the Leo right away and didn't even look at it closely. I would have kept it around a little bit longer and play with it.

Hi Micheal ...Your's was probably just like my T-34s.... I ordered a couple more Rx units from another distributor ..they were the new gen... that's when I noticed the ports for the volume and smoke on/off were missing...there was no way to cross hook up anything.. so I emailed the distributor...they sent me diagrams of the new gen units... the volume and smoke controls are now where the crystals went on the old units....which is covered with a black plastic plug on the early gen 2.4s
I would post the photos they sent me but...the files had to be downloaded... not a big fan of doing that kind of stuff... and I couldn't copy them by just viewing so unfortunately... I can only describe the new gen...it's very cool now... Heng Long is really stepping up their game
Happy Tanking Micheal

Lord Haw-Haw wrote:My I suggest the Taigen 2.4 system. I had serval HL 2.7Mhz and upgraded to the 2.4 HL systems (3 of4), all 4 now have the Taigen. -as of this weekend.
Reasons: #1 reason is the Dragon Anti Track Recoil Circuit (ATRC) boards still works on the Taigen, HL changed the trigger signal on the 2.4. #2 transmitter uses only 6 batteries, HL uses 8 and the the Taigen battery tray is a better design -holds batteries much much better! #3 has a reverse light (LED) option. #4 sounds are louder, even with the HL speaker. #5 cooling fan. #6 better speaker. #7 transmitter feels more ergonomic.
What you loose: cannon fire button/function (located by the start key area on HL).
Lord haw haw. First of all smashing nick ya picked. Second your points are, I'm sure, all completely valid, a lot of people like the Taigen stuff...but As of now though I have a few hundred bucks already into the HL 2.4 gig so I may have gone too far for me to start over.
I don't have a or I blew with the recoil issue because I buy penny wise /pound etc bare bones tanks then waste a lot if money upgrading them. So none have the recoil feature when new. As you know if you press the 3rd button on the transmitter it does that "jerk" thing anyways, not sure why; but I've never found the recoil feature an issue.
Cooling for the Rx, yer dam right -I just do the tried and true HL Rx plastic box plus fan mod. 5 minutes with the dremel and some Gorilla glue, voilà - Rx is cooled by a $10 ever cool fan @ 8000 rpm.
The TX ARE problematic! As you pointed out, the usual issue IS that ridiculous battery bay not giving power to the unit. SOLUTION: Dremel again! I dremel out those #"$@÷!!! battery separator moldings in the battery bay and that invariably fixes the problem.
Despite being poorly designed, the HL 2.4 gig Tx, unlike the RX 18 ditto, is modular and as a result, CAN be taken apart and fixed. Stick with the HL 2.4 system long enough and you'll have a cache of transmitter parts discard nothing unless you're CERTAIN it's bad is my rule. I'm making a post in a minute how I made one good TX from two malfunctioning ones...When I got the bloody thing to work I felt like Thomas edison... And promptly drove my Pzkfw III off the table into the ground!!!!! Fortunately it was 3 feet into carpeting...so nothing major got wrecked except my ego and a few hours work...

So you actually repaired your Transmitter... very cool Mark... not so cool about your tank though

Frank Hi, This is how difficult it is to change to the new board, take the plugs one at a time from the old board and place them in the equivalent socket in the new board!!!!!!! Yes it really is that easy. Good luck. shaun
