ALB, When I was a kid I would have settled for a cardboard box to push around and go BOOM BOOM and BRMMM BRMMM. How times change, mind you I still would have destroyed it in a couple of days, I hope you and all your family have a great holiday. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Hi Shaun,
............I agree 100% how things have changed.. 8O ....As a Kid I had a battery tank once !...but it just went in a straight line forwards...or backwards if you crammed the batteries in the opposite way round.... Come On Admit it !!..We all did it just to see if toys would actually go backwards!...... Many the happy hour I spent playing in cardboard boxes as well ..usually 'left over' after a new bed or something was delivered....
Gods, I think I am getting OLD.... :haha:
Have a Great Holiday !
Alb.

Update ,
I finally managed to squeeze a bit of time after playing with my son all day....
.
Switches mounted into the 'Rear' panel just to be slightly different..and also because I think that the only hinges that I will be able to get will be a bit on the Large Side so its better to use a larger storage locker from the start ! ;)

Storage locker across the rear of the HMAF Tank ..

.
Switches mounted in the hull with the 'locker' unscrewed and unclipped from the body..

Update,
Recharging 'Port' added to the rear 'storage box' area...... Change of plan its not hinged..I just filed the screw support columns so that it is now a 'Clip-on'....
.
Panzer III turret hand painted in a Humbrol colour by my son..... the poor camo lines in the same colour are later added by me with his 'manky' brush...it looks better to the eye than the camera... :{
IMG_9078.JPG
.
Front lights added to hull which 'Turn-on' with the tank and flash till the engine cuts in...
IMG_9087.JPG
.
Lower front lights are controlled via a switch under the 'Storage Locker'...
IMG_9088.JPG
.
As are the rear lights...
IMG_9089.JPG
.
Panzer Commander... (Lego Playmobil at its best)... Riot Policeman, uniform removed with wet and dry, riot helmet smoothed out at the back....German style uniform added with tipex pen white, silver marker and black thin indelible.....( Eagle, iron cross and award badges.. If you don't look very closely and squint a bit... :{ )
IMG_9082.JPG
.
Panzer Grenadier.......Lego Playmibil Police man again....same principle... with a 'Cuff Title' added..... :haha: .. Holding the Latest addition in machine guns the feared ,L3G0 MP 45....With 'Night Sight'
IMG_9083.JPG
.
To ensure that the Panzer Commander remains in the Cupola over rough terrain.... to go with his 'Steel Backbone' as a German Panzer Officer..I have added a Steel Screw to the lower part of his jacket.... This sits on a Neodynium magnet that I have glued into the rim of the cupola... so hopefully he will not 'Drop Off'... :haha:
IMG_9092.JPG
.
Due to the 'Tiredness' of a young man and the larger than anticipated number of presents from relatives..... The release of the latest fighting machine has been delayed...
.......and will now be 'Handed Over' during ....
Operation B-Day.... ( Boxing Day )........ Which will commence when he is up, fed, DRESSED.... and his Gran dad is over from next door to witness the beginnings of the 'Winter Offensive'.... :haha:
.
So,handed over at 10.00 hrs ..How long till it breaks or he 'dumps' the controller on the ground ?... because it is 'STUPID' and will not do EXACTLY WHAT he wants it to do, WHEN he wants it to do it !!

( Caused when a ' yet to be fitted' ....kitchen cupboard door was rammed by the tank causing it to fall onto it !! )

Image Fantastic recount Sir Dietrich..love the part about the cupboard door :D
Your inclusion of him painting the tank was pure genius... as it might have given him a sense of pride...I have a feeling he with have many days of fun with it
It might also mean he will ask you to build another... or maybe use one of yours :haha:

Cheers my friend

Ps...If I may enter a suggestion for securing the Grenadier... Velcro ;)

Hi Painless Wolf and ALPHA,
Thanks for the comments guys.... :D
@ALPHA.....Good idea with the Velcro.... but I went with the 'Magnet' .... I figured that it gives him the option to ' swap' the crew around if he wants to, the Grenadier also has a steel screw in the base of his jacket ...
.
........ almost forgot to add... I have been reliably informed by my son that ...The feared L3G0 MP45 machine gun.. can also fire grappling / grabbling hooks to allow the Playmobil soldiers to climb up the furniture AND spikes so that the soldiers can 'stand & and climb up ' on slippy surfaces.......
.......Isn't imagination a WONDERFUL thing ? :D
