Hi Painless and ALPHA,
Thanks for the info on the Bulldog...
I must admit that I have been looking at it with a view to converting into a Sci Fi type of tank...... :{ ... Just an easy little project...
Turn the turret to the rear and wire it up to run backwards...... add a couple of small turrets where the exhaust exists........and then try to get my 5 year old son into driving the tank around in the garden....
He likes Lego Sci Fi and lego Star Wars so I thought that it might enable me to lead him back onto the 'Dark-Side' of Real tanks.... :haha:
.
I will have to put an add in the wanted section...

Thanks for your input. I reckon that the carriage and import duty would cost more than the tank itself if I ordered from Canada.

I have just ordered a Tiger 1 Pro version and a higher capacity battery from Howe's for £124.99 and will see how I get on with it before committing to spending any higher sums!
The tank itself is on their site at £99+ carriage of £10.
The only thing I didn't notice on their 'info' section before I placed my order was that it said the tank came with a R/C controller which had crystals in it, so I guess that this one won't have the latest 2.4GHZ RX18 board.

Horses45 is only about 2 miles away from me, so I hope our signals don't cross!!

Cheers
Will
As far as HENG LONG is concerned they only produce two that I know of that have the 2.4 system... that would be the LEOPARD and the T34... nothing really wrong with the crystal units... the main drawback being the antenna on the controller ...it might poke someones eye out lol...and on slow turns it's a little jerkier than the 2.4s ... but manageable

Yeah you better watch out for Horses lol... he has two tigers one on the work bench.... and I'm sure he could use spare parts :haha:

Sounds like a fun project Dietrich...I think TK commander had similar ideas to follow a Star Wars theme ..I personally think it's cool... because the figures are readily available ... and very close to 1/16 th scale...

So if you do attempt using the "force" with your son... please post some pics... :D

Hi ALPHA,
He is very difficult to 'Force' ......he is a stubborn little G!t.........I blame his mother...but only here, publicly, cuz 'she' will never read this .... :haha: ....
.
So I may have to be 'gentle' with the 'Dark Side'
I will certainly post some photos.. and since YOU have rather 'Blazed The Trail' with your 'Anime' Panzers .....I am unlikely to get 'chopped up' with a light sabre for 'Heresy' ..... :haha:
.
Unfortunately the 'airsoft' will have to be 'disabled'....until , I can find a way to translate... Do NOT... into ' 5 year old boy speak' ........ so that the sentence 'Do NOT shoot me, mum or the dogs' ......Can be correctly interpreted..... 8O :haha: ..... I will also need some 'Bio-degradable' pellets.....or the lawn will look like it is 'infested' with yellow spots !

Hi ALPHA,
Yeh, my friend, I meant the 'Star Wars' FORCE as well !!! :D ........but his 'stubbornness' is ....to the Force, resistant it is ....as the small guy with the ears would say.... :haha: ...so 'tempting' him across has to be the way to the 'Dark Side'..... :D

Yes they do sell BB's in the UK....but like most of the 'stuff' the 'Safety' brigade are against them.......... You can buy crossbows, catapults and airguns, but the airguns are limited on power or they become a 'FIREARM' and we all know how 'dangerous' the newspapers and the media insist on telling us that those are...... Funny thing is that I can buy a shotgun at a 'Car-boot' sale in France...Legally... and I can buy the ammo in the shops.....no license required.....and all perfectly legal..... and yet France does not suffer from the waves of 'Shotgun Deaths' that the UK media would have us believe would be the unavoidable result !.........
.
I will get off my 'soap-box' now and carry on ...... :{
