Last but not least.... my BASTARD TANK ... the M41WALKER BULLDOG...being as I thought I could not acquire a T34... I did the next best thing and did a "HOLLYWOOD" mod on it ... and put it under the PRAVDA BANNER :D '

After it was finished... I lined it up with the MERIT / TRUMPETER /WSN T34... static model... I was surprised to see how much resemblance there was ;)

Her name... KATY 1... short for KATYUSHIA ...the commander of the PRADA team
(sorry figure is still in the works )

installed a scratch built machine gun... and driver peep hatch covers ...moved the tow hitches from their original mounting points... two things made it a practical move... one was the hooks would snag.. and would hinder climbing one of the barriers in my torture test field ... the second .. that's where the Russians had them ;)

I cut the turret storage off.... and sanded it flat...also the 50 cal mounts on the turret

NONNA figure on the work bench for this one :D

That's it for now,,,ENJOY :haha:

That is an amazing collection, Alpha. You did some great work and showed a lot of creativity. And, even if people in this country don't understand the concept of the anime series or the color scheme of the tanks; I'll bet that there are modelers in Japan who will be really impressed by your work!

Hi Sassgrunt....THANKS... and I totally agree....But in a subliminal way .. more reason to show them... just so others know there can be alternatives to how things can be replicated ...There was a time when I did the same kind of detailing shown here... but I have to say... it was disappointing when you took a look at them one day.. and some detail was broken or missing

The practicality of modelling my tanks as such actually eliminates that worry... as you actually strip details off... instead of adding them...Being once derelict made them all the more challenging... as they are all now very durable runners

Each one goes through a pretty rugged test... which would probably shake off any detail gear added ... I don't baby them during the test....If you look closely at the WALKER you can still see grass stains and some debri that has stuck to the drive sprockets :haha: ..."NATURAL WEATHERING " :haha:

I've flipped my SHERMAN.. the WALKER ...had the tracks torn off my PANZER III...and seized the gearboxes in the JAGD PANTHER...yes believe it or not.. the gear axle actually merged with the bearings 8O :haha:

The activities actually taught me a lot about these HENG LONGS reason I like them so much...like the Timex watches of old... they can take a beating ... and keep on ticking :D

Modelling them in the Girls und Panzer Fashion... is the topping ...as it does open the door for creativity and imagination to flow ...much different from the "Historical" replication ....the irony is that's what Girls und Panzer was all about...An Unconventional school... going against Conventional schools ... and trains of thought :D

And that's the reason I enjoyed the anime... Not just for the tanks... the story was there too.... is was subliminal...but it is there

Thanks for the complement sassgrunt

WOW! :O This guy is after my own heart. He basically scratchbuilt an RC Hetzer out of parts from a 1/16 Pz38t "static" model.

And hes figure making skill is great. Love the Turtle team unit markings.

Hello jeff1101... yes I agree.. He did an outstanding job on that Hetzer

With that said... though I wouldn't mind a Hetzer just like that in my collection...I would prefer the standard Pz38t...it played a larger role in the anime... not to mention had one of the more outlandish paint schemes

Image

as initially it was painted completely in gold :haha:

then gray

after loosing to the the UK team ST. GLORIANA'S

where they ran interference for Miho in the PANZER VI... missed the shot... and got their butts blown up

Greetings Dragon245....Sorry for not having any figures for your daughter to look at... It made me feel a little guilty .....But the thought inspired me last night after I saw your post.... so instead of working on any of my tanks....I whipped up a bust for the figure for my STUG III...so tell me you want to see it in it's "raw" state ... or would you rather wait to see it in the tank? Either way I'm happy to oblige....but I think your daughter might like to see it in it's finished state... I'm leaving it up to you my friend... I'll take pictures later today... if I see a yes... then it will be here ...

Otherwise I'll leave it as a surprise for your daughter

Have a great day

Greetings gentlemen... I have another installment in the world of GIRLS UND PANZER...these two are more traditional... one was a derelict fully restored... the other my third "new" purchase... and one of my smoothest running tanks...

Both are representatives of the SAUNDERS SCHOOL ... the American team

First ... my PERSHING... it was totally dilapidated... it took three to build this one

This one is dubbed Kay 1... after the commander of the SAUNDERS SCHOOL :D

for some reason... her smoker... throws out smoke like a SUPER SMOKER...I can't figure out why... though one drop of solder did drop perfectly on the hot lead where they connect to the control board...who knows though... as I tried to purposely do it to another unit... with no improvement 8O

Am also considering removing the skirts... WHAT DO YOU THINK GANG? ... Any input is welcome... Not a big fan of the skirts ;)

This is my SHERMAN... probably my favorite tank... it crawls ... has good speed.. just about everything well... very very smooth... and after seeing what fynsdad has done with his... will probably purchase another :D ..and make a proper BRITISH VERSION

Dubbed KAY 2... nicknamed VALERIE ...( after a special someone)

The machine gun barrels are made with aluminum tubing... one diameter slid into another then flared for effect ;)
