Oh....sorry sir. The IBU 2 is easy to work with and it has much better sounds then H/L does.
Besides I can give you pics of all the stock upper stuff and wiring right from mine to your phone if you'd like.

I can't be 100% sure without seeing a circuit diagram or pinout for the T-90 board, but it looks like Heng Long have separated the common positive line for the recoil and elevation. I assume this is because the T-90 has up/down elevation control instead of cyclical, so they'd want to be able to reverse the voltage.
If that's the case, you should be right to replace the 3-pin plug with two 2-pin plugs; ditch the common line and give each motor its own power supply. I wouldn't go chopping anything just yet, but that's the impression I'm getting from what I can see. If you can snap a photo of the back of the T-90 board you just got, we can try to trace where everything needs to go to get it to work.
If worst comes to worst, do you have a multimeter?

Thanks guys. I did a bit more troubleshooting just now.
Managed to get functioning recoil but no firing sound.
Can get elevation but it's uncontrolled from the transmitter
Recoil needs that common power from the negative to automatically return to forward battery
It won't work without that .
The traverse is now the big issue, but even not having a gun firing sound kind of ruins the drive to get a new control system with better sounds.
I really think I've tried every possible combination of positions for the three wires and it's got me beat.
I have a smoker coming that will tell me if that at least will function.
Could be that the grand experiment to instal a new HL control system under a Taigen combo unit cannot be done but it can with the old system cable being repositioned ?
Reminds me of a tune "I'm dazed & confused "

For what it's worth I got the T90 KT sound unit working in my Tiger 1 but when the main gun bb fires there is no sound and I have no gun elevation but I do have turret rotation.
So overall its work but not properly.
I achieved all the above by fiddling with the position of the three wires next to the 8 pin socket on the hull.

Yip, same as mine but I dont need the rotation.
I really did believe that having the complete set up of trans, rec, socket and cable would give me life, but no.
Pic shows the way the black-black-red wires taken out of the plug & placed independently.
The 2-pin socket above the black wire gives me elevation but uncontrolled from the transmitter.

Herman I admire your determination but would you consider an Ibu2 or tk60.....
I have two of the late t90 rx18 boards and as much of an upgrade from the original Heng Long sound there's no comparison to the Clark or ibu. If you are determined to finally sort this board please March forward and keep at it.
I've yet to fully sort mine out in my sturmtiger project and it's maddening at times
I have however seen one on YouTube located in the UK I think and the fellow had it in his tiger I.
Probably a member of the forum.....not sure who
I'm not encouraging you to change your mind but just thinking of a more proven and effective route?

That would be smart...............but Im not renowned for taking the smarter route !
It has to be more difficult, and stressful but seem like a good idea

It's so strange how it first it looks like it would be a direct swap change the upper Hull connector the 8-pin wire and you should be set and it's not anything like that....
Which is probably why you're doing it or you could be using it as an excuse to hit the bottle in excess

Okay, I think I've figured out how you need to pin these out. Using
this photo as a reference, it looks like the topmost 2-pin plug should be for the elevation motor, the next 2-pin plug should be empty (it'd be turret rotation), the bottom 2-pin plug should be for the recoil motor, and the 3-pin plug will be for the headlights and machinegun.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the positive and negative on the elevation motor should match up with the red and black wires in the 8-pin plug and the positive and negative on the recoil motor should match up with the green and brown in the 8-pin plug. It'd be best to confirm the signal and polarity with a multimeter beforehand if you can, but I think if you remove the white wire from between the two motors and run a new separate (red) wire from the appropriate terminal on the green motor that
should give you the connections you need to use the Taigen unit with the new Heng Long MFU.

Thanks Mr Raminator, I will try your proposed solution later tonight or some time tomorrow.
There has to be a way to make it work.
Im still concerned that I will have no fire sound after all this, but thats not the end of the world.
As another wise member recently said................Im not letting a damn toy tank beat me.
