FUTURE SHOCK..SAUNDERS M1A2 ABRAMS
Re: FUTURE SHOCK..SAUNDERS M1A2 ABRAMS
I plan on doing the scopes multilayered style too, ALPHA just beat me to it hehehehe! I did it already for the FLIR and CITV and looked OK with the method I did. Next will be the driver's scopes and I'll be testing another material for the scopes. Wasn't able to take a photo of wot I did though.

You really don't need to put a periscope in the loaders hatch. The inside part of it would really stick out a lot. Just fabricate little flap door on the inside of the hatch to cover the opening.
Don't think I've ever seen a photo of the real thing with that periscope in place.

NO IT'S NOT!!!!atcttge wrote:ALPHA wrote: They look good on yours...and I think if ATC does them they will look good on his...mostly because you two are building "realistic" versions...I envision mine "anime" style....not sure if the animators would include that feature...
Hey, mine is anime style too! It has Pikachu as the TC

- which gives me a good excuse to not be 10000000% accurate on the tank hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

If you remember Patlabor.....how about Dominion..Tank Police
Actually anime is pretty detailed. There's one anime - Patlabor I think - where this policewoman was in her car stuck in traffic when a futuristic police vehicle drives over them. The scene is she's on the phone when you hear a siren wailing. Then you see a reflection of the police vehicle on her rear view mirror. It gets closer and closer and then her car has a tinge of red light from the police vehicle's lights. Then forna brief second the police vehicle drives above her car and you can now see it speed away through her windshield. So damn detailed.

with Liona Ozaki and Bonaparte her tank

But you are right...Anime is pretty detailed to a certain degree...but I really don't think the animators would draw in windshield wipers...tell you what they would draw...............GRAB HANDLES

Good to see you back ATC

ALPHA
PS.Did the garage kits of Deunan and Briareos from Appleseed....the anime for that was ok...when it went 3d...the story really got better Also Iria from Zeram

Re: FUTURE SHOCK..SAUNDERS M1A2 ABRAMS
The outer lens came from a Medical tape dispenser...it was really clear...so I found it ideal for the purpose ....the one drawback is that there are limited surfaces you can actually use ...I just had enough flat material to do them all...the second layer is also plastic...tinted...that I had laying around in my scrap boxscalawag wrote:Very nice work on those periscope lenses ALPHA. I like this a lot. You may have mentioned earlier, but if I can ask what material are you using for the lenses?

No thanks necessary Scalawag....pretty much use what you can find...think plaststruct makes clear plastic...never really looked...I just liked the clarity of the plastic off that dispenser...I would say ten times clearer than any other I foundscalawag wrote:Thanks ALPHA thats great.

Re: FUTURE SHOCK..SAUNDERS M1A2 ABRAMS
I looked again and still couldn't find a pic of the periscope mounted or as a separate piece. Did find one that looks like it shows the tiniest sliver of a mounted scope under the hood and it does look like fills the whole area under the hood.
I'm sure yours looks great anyway the way you did it.

Hope so...that hatch is always obscured or open...has to have some kind of sight...with that iridium coating for glaregreengiant wrote:I looked again and still couldn't find a pic of the periscope mounted or as a separate piece.
