*chuckles*
The real fun starts when I try to source out those Tamiya decals in 1/16 scale...The skulls are causing the most trouble. Crosses, Numbers and even the unit designations can be found on other sheets.

Painless try searching for 1/35th and 1/24th scale plane decals - they often have some weird and wonderful nose and tail decals you could use.

Ad Lav,
Thanks, Doc! Paul or Jack had mentioned that as well. I looked and found some cool stuff but no red skulls. I'll look in the 1/35 and 1/24. I had been looking in 1/72 previously. There's always Peddinghaus as well if it really comes down to it.

Painless

Post brought the last pieces for the StuG today. I had ordered through AliExpress and received some metal handles from Shantou-Mato. Alpha, I found the Skull decals yesterday. Peddinghaus to the rescue. Work on detailing and handles will resume after I'm over this Summer cold. Couple of pics of handles:

Alpha, thank you. I felt well enough last night to pick up work on the StuG. I wanted to get some of the last of the resin kit on it so I could switch to spending time on the special features I have lined up for the Gun. The resin is of good quality and takes paint well. The forming of the small pieces could use a little more work but with some patience and the yankee drill, I was able to make the antenna mount workable along with the cleaning rod mount. The pieces of the cleaning rod set came bent and it took some work to get them sanded and cleaned up enough to be usable. Even tho' I could, I don't think I'm going to be taking the rods out of that mount anytime soon. ;o) The StuG books were instrumental again in getting the configuration right. Pictures:

Wish you had said something sooner Painless...Good resin can be bent...all you need is to heat it up...the best is a cold blast blow dryer...that way you can hit it with a shot of normal air after you got it to where you want it...those cleaning rods would have taken to the treatment well...the extreme would be like a sword or blade for a Gundam Kit ...those ...even in good resin are hard to get perfectly straight

Great Job on the Stug....what's next? :haha:

Jackalope,
Thanks, Doc! ;o) A couple of neat features to add to it and it will be ready for unit markings and weathering.
