Herman,
Great reasoning on the Night Vision gear! On your wheels, you can sand the paint off the edges to give them the steel rim look or just run them on their metal tracks a bit to do so. It will break up the 'grapes'. Following along. ;o)

I get the rim thing...................Ive got a plan to get the rest of the green on the hull tomorrow.
Then the cam job after that when I can.
Got my PzIV today, that makes 3 on the shelf waiting
I still want to do a Fehrmann Tiger so that will be 4.
On current form, thats 32 months of work

Great day for paint. Warm & no wind. Did a preshade using XF27 Black Green, instead of black. Seemed to be a good option.
Dry for an hour & hit the cover coat of XF58 Olive Green.
Its darker than my King Tiger(that was a blend with JA Green) so will be right for the late '45 cam pattern I have in mind.
Was a bit of a mission covering the rear hull due to the busy nature of it but the result is satisfying.
Soon time to get the new 'Panzer Putty" out & see how good it is.

Looks good in that color Herman...must have been hot out....even the tank has sun screen on it's nose

Panzer Putty...........covert name for UV protector for tanks exposed to too much rays

Its actual sunlight
Im not due to do another white-er-ised tank for quite a while !!
The Panther Zu Fuss is taking on its envisioned shape now, Im just deciding on the final scheme for it so this can be done.
Really leaning toward the splinter pattern with hard edges & straight lines, but my new paint kit is also tapping on my shoulder for a more traditional late war pattern.
I might just draw a decision out of a hat & stick to it.

Tell you what Herman...go with the Splinter Pattern on this one...and tell your paints that are tapping you on your shoulder to wait for the Panzer IV

...do you know how many patterns were on that one

Masked off the splinter pattern. Had some , er, "base coat malfunctions" so will be a bit of remedial works before I dare go ahead & spray the cam cover.
Tomorrows going to be a decisive day in this build...........
