Painless. If anything they are still not over enough. :)

Doing detail parts today, random batch, no drive just what I felt like.

The hooks from Derek. Wow, if the Tamiya Tiger is as nice as these pieces I can't believe what I started with. Still, as nice as they are, not without flaws I needed to correct...

The hook had way to much sway inside the standard fit mount for it, seen on the right hook. I narrowed if a tiny bit to remove this "play" so the hook is always straight (left).

Stylish...

..and functional! (That's one of my big potential headaches solved nicely! Thanks again Derek!)

The Voyager Brass gun cleaner/tow cable mount had a problem. It was cut in a way that all five "holes" were the same size! This is not the case, as the tow cable is significantly larger in diameter than the cleaning rods. Took some careful work but I fixed this issue so the tow cable fits, before it was not even close. I want to make some new cleaning rods as well, the old ones don't satisfy me anymore. Going to make them our of wood this time, maybe reuse some of the older brass pieces.

Off to play WoT tonight, thanks for stopping in. 8)

Sov,
Your new photographs with the rest of the hull installed show the rear fender mounts perfectly. Beautiful work!

Let me log a few mistakes I've noticed.

I see this post here by David shows me what I needed to know about the gun cleaner/tow cable mount. Seems my gorgeous Aber tow cables are way too large in diameter. Oh well, still going to use them, sadly this isn't an easy fix but I won't mind. The gun cleaning rods are actually bigger IRL than the tow cable! :O

Correct me if what I'm referring to is wrong for my model Tiger, David.

I may end up redesigning my own mounts for these if the scale is off that much! We'll see.

I lined up the side fenders with where the Asiatam Fenders were, but they no longer line up with the rear fender mount as they should, as the brass mount I put on is larger than the plastic molded Asiatam mount was.... Dammit. Those fenders are going to be a pain... super glued the bolts in place already and a ton of little holes to fill as well. >:<

Sov,
I admire your dedication to detail., I freely admit here and now that the Build I am beginning here soon will not be as detailed as this and Tom's type of work. I go through them quicker and alter\make use of more of the parts that come with the tank. I do add some Schumo so it won't be a complete disaster. ;o) Your Tiger is Top Drawer.

I've got parts from so many sources that none quite "line up" (literally) with each-other. So much stuff is off size, too big, too small, the wrong design (like that air vent on the roof that no one makes an accurate version of).

Work is slower since the next season of my pro league started but my team beat last season's champions last night so I guess the time is well invested. Sitting at my PC playing my concern is... when can I get work on my Tiger done!

I'm going to make one of the rear fenders and see how it fits before I tear it apart. I'm assuming it will fit like trash which will be motivation for ripping off the side skirts.

I mounted those fenders even before I ever saw those mudflap mounts forget about received them. :silent:

Edit: You can see back on Page 1 how the fenders used to line up!

The road on the quest for more and more detail is lined with pitfalls. :haha:

What you're looking at below is $56.50 worth of scale hardware ruined. I only saved a single bolt out of 32, the rest broke attempting to unscrew since they were super glued. Going backwards a step...

RIP bolts.

SOV, You have to get yourself a decent DEBONDER, whether ZAP7 is available to you in that far off land I know not but someone must sell something similar over there because throwing $60 down a hole in the ground is not funny.  shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
