ca. 1964 I'd guess... C'mon: let's get to the really scandalous ones!

Thought my engine on a pallet looked a bit plain. Added a ring gear to the flywheel (was hoping for a finer pitch but this was all I had). Also a "shipping" frame (my interpretation - Have you seen one?).

Re: [D-Day] M32 ARV
Except for the rusting of the exhaust manifolds and cross over pipes, this is how they were painted from FOV (Forces of Valor). I removed a muffler per side and did some touch ups, but their paint is far better than I am able!
I am depicting a replacement engine so far more grimy than it should be. Perhaps it was pulled from a battle damaged tank for re-use.

Eric, I agree with Bix that the patterning of the paint on the exhaust, etc., is perfect. But I would be tempted to make the manifold "nice and rough" (like Tina Turner's "Proud Mary). I use a rust pigment (various are available from the Spanish acrylic paint crowd). Now, how would one make it "nice and rough" and still maintain your superbly realistic pattern of rusting? I would not want to mess that up.

I am not a painter! Thank you for the complements, but it is a base of the lighter rust color with some dry brushing of the darker. It is Vallejo's Rust, Stain and Streaking set. Pehaps I am so used to working on rusty junk (learned from Sassgrunt) that it just comes naturally...
