I don't know if you all recall but Andy gave me a standalone IR firing system, an RCTA Panzerfaust. I dug it out this morning and connected it up to a battery. It works!
When running it fires a single Panzerfaust or multiple machine gun burst from the IR. It also has sound effects which is a bonus. It does it on a random basis, no tx required, so it is just switched on a left to do it's own thing.
Now that I know it works, we can mount it somewhere with one of the gun emplacements...just need a German with a Panzerfaust or an MG42 behind sandbags or something?
The only drawback as far as I know is that it send a Clark board into repair mode, rather than just hit the tank, but it worked ok against an Elmod tank when I tested it.
It could even be mounted in a wrecked Stug or any other tank, which would be a good way to hide the battery?

Sounds good. A quick search reveals no problems getting hold of a panzerfaust or panzerbusche. Can't find a suitable figure, though. Same applies with the MG42.

I think I may have found a figure that can be modified to handle a panzerfaust or panzerbusche. I will fire up my laptop for a better look.

The figure would have been ideal, but I refuse to pay over 19 euros for postage!

I've found an alternative. This one's a kit which I'm hoping I can modify. I am going to order a panzerschreck. I am thinking as it's a standing figure, it will need something like a ruined building for cover. Presumably this would also mean there would be somewhere to hide the board and battery. To have it ready for the show, I shall have to get a shift on, when I get home.

It will run off a 9v battery, and the board is about 30x45x20mm. It runs a standard HL speaker 60x60x30mm. There is a 5mm IR emitter in case that matters.

I have an idea. Whether I can realise it only time will tell.

If I disappear later on it is because I have decided to make the journey to the Yorkshire Show. Weather looks a bit iffy but it is borderline sunny spells/showers.
