Good morning Gentlemen,
There's ( slight ) weathering to do yet as well. For that "used look"

Good evening,
It is a Build for a Friend named Sassgrunt, Mr. Ferny. Worth the extra eye straining effort. Well, tonight after a pleasant day spent hovering over this tank, I can say that all of the actual 'build' work is done. Almost ten months worth. My work counter is empty and all that remains is the detail paint, Commander and markings. Pics:

Ecam,
Oddly enough, I had asked Mike if he wanted me to take it up to your home and drop it off there to save him a trip to the Hinterlands. He was very emphatic that he wanted to visit and see the acreage here while picking up the tank. *chuckles* C.R.73, I corrected that. Ferny is a great guy I am sure but I am not building anything this detailed again for a while. ( and that one will be mine ;o)

Painless

Sat down last night and began the work of assembling and painting the Commander. This kit gave two options and I went for the Tropical Uniform fellow. I had purchased specific skin and shadow tone paints for this but after a couple of attempts with the chalky skin tone, gave it up as a bad effort. I went with the combos of wood ( don't laugh too much ) and sand that had given such good results on the crew for the 'Palace' and the early StuG. He looks properly horrific with his head hanging off of a stick today but he will clean up nicely for this Tiger, I think. Pics:

I applaud your willingness to paint a figure for this, as well. I am even worse at doing figures than I am at finishing builds (yes, OR posting photographs, Eric)! I wouldn't knock using a "wood" color - whatever works!

Mike!,
It's really good to hear from you. ;o) The Tiger will be finished very soon with the Commander, final paint, markings and weathering. Everything on the tank works perfectly and should give you years of trouble free running. It's very heavy as well. Here are a couple of pics of the earlier crewmen I did using this color combo. You should be pleased with the results. Pics:

Good morning Mr Wolf
I recall asking how much metal was on a Tamiya Tiger, you said around 30%. Which components are metal ?
