I thought that over the years I had seen any and every Tiger build that was ever going to be known to man or beast. Each modeller had tried to build the next 'best' Tiger, the most accurate, the most detailed etc etc.

Having scrolled down through those exhaust flappers...and seen the micro engineering that you are putting into this, I never cease to be amazed. Your patience (and eyesight !) is producing a model that is going to be right up there with the museum quality builds.

I'm doing an early Tiger so a set will have to be built. I may try to sweet talk Sov here into at least building the bronze hinges for me to buy. *chuckles* It is my Birthday next week. *Big Eyes*

I should have tried resin casting them or something, lol.

I can make you the hinge "box" and leave you to drill the holes. I broke too many drill bits and exhausted myself manual hand drilling through the brass with cheap Chinese bits. As stupid as it sounds those so-so quality flappers were the toughest thing I've dealt with. 4-6 hours of work not including all the failures, so stupid, gah, sorry makes me frustrated thinking of it.

Let me know via pm painless, I can send some of the parts and you can "finish" them. I only have one pushpin left though, lol.

At least I can move on now.

Filled the machine marks with glue and sanded them, and put the whole thing together. Next, exhaust shields in progress and then on the rear plate permanently on the tank.

Thanks David, before those pics I had the wrong idea on what they looked like. Although it was frustrating and took way more time than it should have I finished these. I felt like they were holding me back. Scavenging for the proper parts was... not easy.

I used a pushpin mauled for the cap itself, had to make my own hinge from heavy brass and brass rod to connect the thing. My fingers hurt.






Now I can get back to regular work.

Do you know how many people would have got a heart attack if the headline was true

Thank you, my friend but I am not in the business of making work for folks. You've shown how to do it, that is more than enough for the likes of me. ;o) If it is something requiring metallurgy like one of Alpha's brass air soft barrels, then yes, you'll find me in queue. I should be able to replicate this with your excellent How-to(s) and will let you know how it turns out.
