Wayne do you know if these will definitely fit the Heng long truck rims? Thanks

It looks like WPL are copying the CrossRC range of trucks, and reproducing them in 1/16. The CrossRC ones are top of the range, with prices to match, but they are incredibly good.

Carl, when I measured it, the ID was 33mm and OD was 66.33mm, the rctank.de ones are ID 30mm and OD 57mm, so in theory it will be smaller than the stock and you might be able to squeeze the rim in there. On the otherhand, Hobby Raw has the actual replacement/different tires as well as all the individual parts !

Other than the tires, given the low price of the actual truck, it might be cheaper to just buy another one for spares.

The tyre's from tankmodellbau.de do not fit the standard rims of the truck  they will go over the rims but the heng long tyres are hollow and when you take them off the rim there is a channel which each side of the tyre wall runs around, the tankmodellbau.de tyres are moulded one piece which the inside is sort of a v shape which sits inside the rims that tankmodellbau.de also sell, you can sit the tyres in the centre channel but then you have about a 3mm gap running around the outside of the tyre both in the back and front, i hope this makes sense and is of some help

Cheers, Lee.

I totally agree. A set of four tires is $48 plus shipping, and I can get an entire truck from ebay for $47.90 with free shipping.

Hehe, it's good to talk.
Sorry I didn't get back earlier, the small tyres are a perfect fit for a 1/16 Willys Jeep I've been working on so I had to buy them, I bought the larger ones just in case they would fit the HL trucks std wheels & if they won't I can always 3D print a set of wheels to suit.
The truck itself is so cheap that it makes loads of sense to have 1 or 2 for spares.
My plan of attack is to convert the truck into a V2 transporter, I've made the rocket & I'm just starting the trailer.
Thanks for the link Michael, that will come in very handy
Cheers

Mine came through from Dave (thanks Dave). Really really impressed, people have complained of on/off throttle but I counted at least 7 throttle steps. Steering on/off isn't ideal but it's not the end of the world. Seems to run really well, surprisingly good power for the little motor. I think as long as it's not really heavily laden should be fine off road. I forsee a lot more armoured car conversions in the future.
