If U bolts are what you need....it isn't all that hard to have the spoke threaded...most bicycle shops have the tool...I have one of my own...from when I used to make custom wheels lol....your situation sounds very similar to the predicament I had with the KV....two spokes and a carefully shaped piece of aluminum was all that was needed to keep everything in place...it sure isn't the normal train of thought for doing these models...but you know me...the box has no sides once any fabrication is needed ..................

After a couple of early shifts at work I was able to return to the StuG this evening. Alpha, I think that what I am going to do for trunnion mounts is drill the right sized hole in a .75 inch thick rectangle of plastic or balsa wood then cut the rectangle lengthwise. That should give me two matching mounts with good surface area for epoxy to adhere to. Tonight, I went back to the recoil and elevation unit and took it apart ( carefully ) and did some measuring. Afterwards, with the aid of a few straight lines and the Mark One eyeball, I trimmed and filed down the trunnion arms and used steel pins cut from an old HL aerial to do a dry fit of the pieces. I believe it is going to work. ;o) More this weekend. Pictures for now:

You've put a lot of work into this.

How're you finding the resin bits? I've bought some before and they've been hit and miss, bad moulds, too much to tidy up etc put me off resin lol

Thank you for looking at the StuG. It is a labor of love as are all of the vehicles I do and as I suspect, all of us are the same. The resin kit turned out really well with some minimal filing and fitting required. It is strong like plastic but more friable of course. This Winter coming and next year look to have a lot of resin work in them. All of the material I have laid aside for those future builds seems as clean and strong as this Asiatam\Profiline kit is.

Good afternoon. The 'U' bolts or 'spokes' would be to secure those round arms of the trunnion mount against the interior front wall of the casemate. You'll see how it goes once I can take time to finish the mount.

OH...........you didn't get there yet...well..I can make you some threaded spokes...you can then bend it anyway you want...won't cost you a dime...but the nipples that go with those spokes might ....................

Nipple cost scared ya didn't it ...No problemo Painless...you know where you can get them spokes...just throw me a line with measurements and such and they'll be there in a hop skip and a jump
