HERMAN BIX wrote:Well, I have removed the wires from the plugs and tried what I believe to be every combination of connections onto the new 8 pin board.
I can get tracks, turret rotation, but no elevation and the smoker unit runs but has no control(runs constantly)
The Jagdtiger I can understand the recoil system not working as it's a major organ transplant, but on a standard HL elevation and smoker not able to be enabled ??
Droning me to the drink it is
I did the same on my HL KT Mr B.
Got everything working except for the main gun.
However, if you look closely at the other thread about the T90 board - Carl Rainford took pictures of the 8 pin board on the upper hull of the latest Tiger 1 fitted with the new board - there are a number of black and red wires soldered to the 8 pin mini board.
I haven't had time to look at it closely, but therein lies the solution......

Herman,
On the current Tiger using the IBU2, the recoil worked continuously once the thing was powered on. The plug only worked one way from Tamiya specs and I had the right location on the board. The answer was reversing the + and - by pulling the wires from the plug and reinserting ( three pin plug type ). A number of problems were solved by looking at the Board diagram and seeing which board plug ins were actually matching up with the plugs polarity.
regards and Good Luck, Doc,

My original kt 8 pin has the same. They are for the headlight and the machine gun flash.
I might try to grab the wires only to the elevation unit and see if bypassing the entire turret wiring harness works.
Surely only needs a positive and neg to make it work ?
I don't need the bb function

I don't know why HL felt the need to make changes to their wiring. Here's a shot of the KT upper hull 8 pin and the newer multi pin equivalent.
Not easy for the electrically challenged like me.

Yip, mines the same.
I dont really need the headlight or the MG flash(the MG has an Aber gun in place)
Its Tank Club day tomorrow I can ask questions & see about possible solutions.
I really want the new HL stuff to work, but its causing so much hassle I am almost done with it.

Hate to be the contrarian, but I love the new multi-plug setup for the upper hull. It makes it easier to separate the turret from the upper when you can just undo the plugs rather than having it tethered by the MG being hard-wired. I hard-wire the headlights and convoy light by soldering those leads to backside of the plug and use the plug for the coax MG and IR LED (if I can ever get that working) since they are turret leads.

Mr B, this is not meant to be a frivolous question, but when you did the "octopus sucker" patern, did you fashion a paint stamp out of a potato ?
On the continuing HL twin sound board saga, I now have everything functioning with the exception of the main gun.
I will crack this......

Mr Tiggr all those rings were hand painted. All 211 of them !
Good work on your electrical progress, please keep records
