Thank you!
I have had several here comment on the neatness of my work, it is simply become a part of me because it is of my job!
I work for Gulfstream Aerospace and I am responsible for quality and cosmetic issues on creations like this where even the slightest imperfection is "completely" unacceptable!

Barry, great work as always, but I am somewhat curious about your magnet post solution. Did you do the same thing for the hull magent ? I don't recall you putting a screw into the poles before putting the magnet on. What is the purpose of the screw underneath the magent ? Is it to adjust the height so you have a perfect fit with the heights ?
Very neat but I am just curious about the reason for the screw.

Michael,
My thought in using the screw was to give the magnet something to attach itself to and combined with the epoxy would greatly reduce the chance of they coming loose. There is not alot of surface area for the epoxy to bong to so I just thought the magnet would help.
The lower hull magnets are mounted very differently being either individually bolted on the angle or mounted beneath the angle, they are very securely mounted.

Motor/Gearbox shock mounts arrived from “down under”, 2 weeks from order date, excellent service.
After considerable deliberation I cut the GB motor post off flush with the lower hull IML. I carefully trimmed away the alignment post webbing to allow me to place my mounting plates and still use the alignment post for their intended purpose.
Each of the 6 GB mounting screws will attach to a shock mount. I have added 2 additional shock mounts between them just for “effect” as an added measure of stability.
The 3mm Blindnuts for mounting them have not arrived yet so this as far as I dare go until I can secure the shock mounts to the hull. I do not want to attempt to shim for final alignment without them secured. The nuts should be here later in the coming week.

Barry

Hi folks,
Gearbox/Motor shock mounted plate complete. Prepping the lower hull interior for paint. I have a 10 day vacation starting on July 1st and I am hoping to complete lower hull including getting running gear and electronics installed for test runs.

Hi guys,
With the assistance of Thomas at ElMod and Joseph at J&M I have worked through a couple of minor issues and the tank is up and running. All drive functions, main gun functions and sounds operations are nominal.
For those who have the ElMod one of the issues is the photo and connector key for the board on page 1 of the manual it shows the motor connector identifications reversed. You can compare the cropped picture on page 2 and see they are opposite to one another. I had wired everything to the pic on page 1 and was seeing normal drive and spin turn but reversed steering. Once we determined the error in the manual and I swapped the motor connectors all was good! Thomas will be correcting the manual to eliminate the confusion.
I was having trouble with my turret traversing servo with would run but not stop without opposite input which only changed it's direction but did not stop it. I had it set up as a servo and needed to have the programming configured for an ESC not servo. Easy fix within the configuration setup.
Once I get the turret wired up through slip ring I will be able to fully operate all functions and adjust the programming to match the tank’s operations. There are some 100 programmable parameters to fine tune the programming to the tank and it uses the K.I.S.S. principle and is very easy.
TAFN,
Barry
