Slow but steady..............got the recoil/elevation secured and altered the attachment that joins the barrel to the mechanism.
Due to the tight tolerances, the only way to get the barrel into the correct position is to assemble all the hardware & mechanism in place, then slide the barrel into place with gel super glue inside the 'breach' to attach to the smaller tube that in turn is attached to the attachment.
Now in my determined state, I got everything in place, ready to go, and began the final insertion.
Now I know with Gel I have up to 30 seconds of manipulation before it locks.
Imagine my surprise & terror when it lock solid as soon as it touched
.............
Turns out I simply grabbed the normal glue rather than the Gel.......
Damn barrel was sticking out proud of the recoil sleeve by 33%
That Gentlemen, was one of those $%$#@#*'n %$#@# moments that I am glad no other human was around to witness
So today, I basically spent the entire day getting back to where I should have been yesterday.
Ended up having to dismantle the entire structure, and then heat the breach to break the glue bond.
Which melted the gadget that attaches the barrel pull tube to the mechanism, which meant I had to recover that, which meant I needed to go out for a drive & come back home for a very big cold glass of "get the 'F' over it"
Now folks, it is done, the barrel is in place, the recoil travel is free, the forward position of the barrel in its sleeve is right, the sun is lowering, Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' is playing, my daughters are happy that Daddy is not in a mood, and as my wife is out of the country for several more days, I have the History channel up loud, and life is very good
