Taking a break today Mr K.....With the inclusion of the Js2....I will have three unpainted kits
It was BING BANG BOOM...three almost in a Row
A Saladin took my mind off those Modelkasten tracks.....then a Damlier Scout car converted to a Dingo arrived just about when I added the final details to the Saladin...and just by circumstance ...the Js2 came when I put the final touches on the Dingo ...If the Js's parts were bagged like other companies I would have prepped and painted the Saladin and Dingo....but there were just too many loose parts rattling around the box...I just had to start assembly right away ...just to make sure nothing was missing
Photos of the Salidin and Dingo soon

MORE uploads

.........

It's really odd..when windows 10 became available...they changed their format
Before I could upload more than 20 pics at once ...now after one...you get directed to an "album" format...which makes it more difficult to edit the photos

Here we go
Just for the Heck of it...Research vehicle SALADIN MK III (vintage TAMIYA) Pre Paint:
Terrible model lol....way overcast...some location holes were three times the size of the peg that was supposed to go in it...many parts out of scale too...don't know how Tamiya gained their reputation...but it wasn't from this vehicle
The one upside or silver lining ...was the poly tires...so no need for paint

Another note...this Saladin was never in GUP....but it was a gift of mercy lol...during a really down time struggling with Modelkasten tracks

...not to mention I think it is a hint to paint the wheels on these research tanks

This is a great model

...Research Vehicle Dingo or Daimlier Scout Car (vintage Tamiya) Pre Paint:
I would give this car a 5 star rating...everything was so nicely done...this and the Carro were the most relaxing builds I've done so far
This IS in GUP...there is a short sequence where Anzu comes riding into the match with St Gloriana ...the best thing is...it is definitely transferable to 1/16th...will probably do one just because it's so cool looking

are you sure it is not a matchbox

Saladin MK III

I see what you mean
It looks lemon like how many drops of glue to assemble it

.
Terrible kit....not sure what Tamiya had in mind when they cast it ....you know the hatch hinges just about fell through the location holes provided for them
The side mounted antenna bases where almost as long as the Turret...and stuck way too far out IMO
The odd thing is ...I must have built this model over 6 times or so...and don't recall it being so bad...and I also recall the ones I built being molded in Green plastic
...Maybe it was a later model...or maybe an earlier one when the molds where still good ...Who knows for sure...all I know is...this one is lucky it got completed
Then the Daimlier scout car looks good I like the detail of this model it will look good when you apply the paint job Mr A , I have seen this in 1/16 and it looks awesome

.
Well I don't think it's the best example out there...I actually won one before this

It has twice as much parts+PE ....being I was involved with those Modelkasten tracks....I just didn't feel like getting into something that detailed...think my friend sensed I was in a slump...and gave me the Saladin...which almost turned out to be as much a PIA as the tracks lol
Long Story Short......The Tamiya Daimlier turned out to be the light at the end of the tunnel so to say....and with the addition of the "Barrel of Fun" Js2....It's going to be a grand ol' time heading into paint
