The gloomy news is that I have now run out of filament though more is on order, and the esc that I ordered has been delisted by EBay just after I paid for it? As to whether it actually turns up is anyone's guess, if it doesn't then I will have to claim a refund and then find another supplier, which is a pain.
Wow that is simply great. Another cool truck

I've just read that you can get real wood filament for 3D printers. How does this work? I thought the printers worked by melting plastic. Any attempts on my part to melt wood and it just catches fire!

Yes, they have filament that prints "wood" but think something like OSB. Wood and plastic combined. Erik tried some a few years ago and didn't like it, but I hear it's vastly improved since then. It's on my list of things to try.
You know they now 3D print stuff you can eat, right? They're also making great advancements in printing metal.

Wood filament has been around for a while. From what Ive read the biggest problem is that it is very abrasive and wears out the nozzle very quickly.

This was an interesting print, but it took 14 hours. Still, this should make a very nice piece for the next village I build, wherever I may build it.
So what the hell is a "Lamp Box"?

If you had been in London from the end of WW2 or perhaps earlier you would have seen "Lamp Boxes" on the street painted dark blue with an amber light on the roof, They had a door which when the light was flashing the nearest Policeman would unlock and answer the telephone it was more commonly known as a "Police Box" ,Now the Constabulary have personal radios they are no longer in service EXCEPT for one
It came to fame with the television programme "Dr Who" The good Doctor flies around the galaxy in it.

We've still got one in Sheffield. Not sure what they do with it!

A couple guys have brought up Dr. Who, but I've never watched that show. I was thinking I could maybe use it for something like this
I'd just open all the windows and use clear plastic for glass.
Now that cell phones (wait, y'all call 'em "Mobiles", right?) are everywhere you can't find an old fashioned pay-phone anywhere, and even before cell phones they had removed almost all the phone booths and replaced them with those half-height clam-shell thingies. Time marches on, eh?

Yes, it's next to Sheffield Town Hall.
