Alpha,
Just a photo to show the dry fit. Asiatam hatch hinges are on their way along with an early Panzer Commander half figure. ;o)

Herman,
I did buy some and was about to use them (begrudgingly, I admit), when I located some of the metal hinges from Asiatam that would work. I'll save those little brass ones for later. ;o)

I hope you have better luck than me with Asiatam.................no night fighting gear, no reply, not even after a threat to involve Paypal.
Just out of interest, are you going to ballast this one ?
My munitionschlepper is way to light & I assume all this size would be as well. The suspension is pretty supple but it still rolls over things rather than staying flat & the suspension doing the work.

Herman,
All of the metal that I added ( complete running gear down to the track adjuster ) and that thick and crazy heavy resin casemate makes this small assault gun fairly weighty. I have had to beef up the suspension in the shock mounts, front and rear to get a level ride height. The suspension is definitely active and I have had fun already running the gun around the main level of the house. A guilty pleasure since it is not complete yet. ;o)

Mornin', Alpha,
While I cannot open this one up to the extent of the 1/35 Tamiya version that I am copying, I will make a couple of the hatches working ones. ;o)

Speaking of hatches, today's Post saw the arrival of some of the very last bits for this build, the Asiatam hinges and new Commander. The box was mostly crushed ( most of the ones arriving from Germany usually are for some reason ) and I was initially dismayed. The interior packing was intact and the small box for the Commander contained more packing so everything came through all right. ;o) Time to get busy again. Pics:
