Good Morning, Gentlemen!
Those Vice Grips that were shown holding the Brass Aerial Mount have shown up in this Build and others. Background stuff but they are of particular importance having been sent to me by another Past ( Now Enshrined ) Member of the Forum from those same Islands. He did not know (noted in his last Missive to me) if they would be of any use but as they are miniature in size and my fingers suffer from frequent visits by Uncle Arty, they are perfect for holding small stuff steady while it is being modded\mauled by me ;0) I have a couple of sets and try to make use of them all throughout Builds, Home Repairs, etc. It is funny how the small things in Life grow Large when properly viewed. More KT fun to come. Some scribing to make molded on pieces look more realistic.
regards,
Painless

Those screens are slick mate.
Did you add material into the big end to complete them or have I missed something!?

Herman!
I followed the pattern used by the Hobby Boss ones that came with the 1/35 tank I built to use for paint testing. Those came with the kit supports for the rear of the mesh Shields but nothing for the front. I did notice that the scale Hobby Boss parts seemed to be longer, almost butting up against the armored collar around the turret ring and over lapping at the rear to the armored, round Air vents. The 1/16 Taigen ones are much shorter so I mounted them at the rear edge of the rectangular air vent plate. If I started them at the armored collar, they did not cover the vents completely. I think I will make up a couple of curved pieces to cover the open fronts and install them that way. Makes more sense. ;0)

Painless

Mr Froman!
Thanks for looking in! The Zimmerit is all thanks to Atak! All I am doing is applying it ;0) Today, still working on those Grenade Shields for the Engine Deck Front Vents.

Love the screens and opening rear hatch. It was funny reading the vent thread about manufacturers not having opening hatches. Compared to Tamiya HL and especially Taigen/Torro are great. Tamiya created a small cottage industry from the likes of Schumo etc to make their hatches opening and operational. Of course just like new Tamiya kits those are getting rare too

Good Morning,
PM, thank you for looking in, Sir! I am looking forward to building my own Tamiya Tiger 1 Kit. I will go nuts on the hatches and detailing as I did with Sassgrunts. Easier to do when the armor is disassembled in kit form (at least for me ;0) Took an hour last night and rebuilt those Grenade screens for the KT rear deck. As Herman noted, makes a much better presentation of the part now. On and On we go!

Painless
